Position Overview:
As the Catering Manager you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of catering operations for Sodexo Live! at the University of Mississippi. This includes pre-event planning on-site execution and post-event wrap-up. You will lead a team of attendants and servers ensure proper food handling and customer service standards and maintain a smooth and efficient catering experience for guests and clients. This role requires strong leadership organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced high-volume environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
Manage pre-event planning setup and coordination of catering logistics
Supervise and train catering attendants servers and support staff
Ensure exceptional customer service and professionalism at all events
Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure menu accuracy and quality
Oversee inventory equipment and proper food handling practices
Act as the primary point of contact for clients during catered events
Monitor event timelines and adjust operations to ensure seamless execution
Maintain compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards
Qualifications/Skills:
Prior experience in catering banquet or hospitality management
Proven leadership and team management abilities
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Excellent communication and customer service abilities
Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
Ability to work flexible hours including nights weekends and holidays
Other Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods and move throughout large event spaces
Ability to lift push and pull up to 40 pounds
Comfortable working in a dynamic high-energy environment
Job Type: Full-time Seasonal
Pay: $19.00 $21.00 per hour (based on experience)
Expected Hours: 40 per week during peak season; Football and Basketball
