Sous la responsabilit du/de la: Coordinatrice ou coordinateur du CRF et directrice ou directeur de lquit.

Description du Centre
Le Centre de ressources fministes est un espace fministe pro-2SLGBTQ ouvert tout le monde sans jugement pro-choix qui soutient les membres de la communaut (femmes trans et hommes) qui veulent travailler ensemble pour dfier loppression de genre sur le campus et dans nos communauts. Le CRF milite en faveur de lquit des genres sur le campus par le biais de campagnes de collectes de fonds dvnements dateliers et bien plus encore! Nous offrons un espace daccueil anti-oppressif inclusif sans jugement pro-choix sexuellement positif et fministe qui soutient les membres de la communaut (femmes personnes bispirituelles personnes trans personnes non binaires/conformes au genre et hommes) qui veulent travailler ensemble pour dfier loppression de genre sur le campus et dans nos communauts. Nous travaillons sur la sant sexuelle et reproductive la justice reproductive lquit menstruelle la parentalit la prvention des violences sexuelles le soutien aux survivantes et tout autre type de travail jug pertinent pour lintersectionnalit du genre et dautres identits multiples coexistantes. Nous nous efforons dapporter un soutien aux survivantes de la violence et de leur donner les moyens dagir. Nous crons galement un environnement ouvert o vous pouvez trouver les ressources et les personnes dont vous avez besoin pour apporter des changements positifs dans votre vie terminer un travail vous faire de nouveaux et nouvelles amies ou simplement vous dtendre un peu.

Description du poste
Loppression de genre et les questions lies au genre sont trs prsentes sur le campus et peuvent souvent tre mises de ct et ignores. Le CRF est la recherche dune candidate fministe pour contester activement cette dynamique et promouvoir lgalit et lquit sur tous les fronts dans la communaut de lUniversit dOttawa. Le superviseur.e des vnements travaillerait en lien avec la coordinatrice son rle principal serait de crer et de coordonner des vnements fministes pour les tudiant.e.s sur le campus.

Responsabilits

  • Se tenir au courant des dveloppements en matire de questions fministes intersectionnelles tout en sengageant activement dans un apprentissage autodirig pour faciliter lapprentissage le dsapprentissage et le rapprentissage;
  • Assurer le dveloppement la croissance la visibilit et la promotion du CRF de ses services de ses campagnes et de ses programmes;
  • Apporter un soutien aux tudiants de pair pair et les rfrer des ressources appropries si ncessaire.
  • Effectuer des tches administratives telles que rpondre aux courriels rdiger des lettres rpondre aux appels tlphoniques rdiger des rapports planifier des programmes laborer des listes de ressources etc.;
  • Participer des formations des ateliers et des vnements afin dlargir le bagage ducatif et les comptences professionnelles ncessaires au travail au sein du CRF et du SUO dans son ensemble;
  • Prparer et organiser des vnements fministes rguliers pour les tudiantes sur le campus tels que des groupes de discussion des ateliers et des formations;
  • Offrir des ateliers sur divers sujets lis au fminisme aux clubs tudiants aux associations tudiantes reconnues (AEC) et aux facults de lUniversit dOttawa.
  • Crer et faciliter des activits promotionnelles (e.g. tabling) rgulires souvent en collaboration avec des organismes hors campus.
  • Organiser et faciliter de brves prsentations en classe individuellement ou avec des bnvoles afin de promouvoir les initiatives et les programmes de la CRF.
  • Collaborer et tablir des partenariats avec dautres dpartements du SUO des clubs ou des organisations extrieures au campus selon les besoins de lquipe;
  • Maintenir une base de donnes de contacts pour collaborer divers types dvnements avec des informations provenant de bnvoles de parties similaires ou intresses dagences externes dorganisations sur le campus et hors campus dassociations tudiantes reconnues dONG etc.;
  • Sassurer que toutes les informations relatives au paiement ont t reues pour rgler les dpenses lies lvnement et communiquer avec le coordinateur ou la coordinatrice du CRF et le directeur ou la directrice des programmes.
  • Aider maintenir jour le bulletin dinformation du CRF les courriels les pages Facebook Instagram TikTok et tous les autres rseaux sociaux et canaux de sensibilisation et continuer dvelopper une stratgie de sensibilisation pour impliquer la population tudiante de lUniversit dOttawa;
  • Contribuer limage positive et lducation du SUO promouvoir la positivit et le professionnalisme dans lenvironnement du SUO; et
  • Autres tches connexes.

Qualifications

  • Doit tre une tudiante de lUniversit dOttawa;
  • Exprience dans la cration dateliers dvnements et de groupes de discussion et facilitation de groupe;
  • Exprience de travail avec des tudiantes des populations marginalises et une connaissance de lintersectionnalit;
  • Comprhension avre ou exprience de la revendication pour les femmes ou les populations vulnrables;
  • Approche anti-oppressive avec une perspective fministe cible;
  • Connaissance des approches centres sur les survivantes dans le cadre de la prise en charge des survivantes de la violence de genre;
  • Connaissance des questions fministes modernes et des questions lies au genre qui concernent les jeunes et les personnes diverses;
  • Bonne comprhension de la dynamique de groupe et capacit crer un environnement inclusif;
  • Capacit travailler de manire autonome et en quipe;
  • Le leadership et lexprience en matire de planification dvnements tudiants constituent un atout;
  • Comprhension de la thorie et de la pratique de lquit et de la justice sociale;
  • Connaissance pratique des plateformes logicielles Microsoft Google et Internet;
  • Une bonne connaissance de lUniversit dOttawa est un atout; et
  • La connaissance du SUO de ses services entreprises clubs associations et activits est un atout.

Centre Description
The Feminist Resource Centre is a feminist 2SLGBTQ friendly all inclusive non-judgmental pro-choice feminist drop-in space that supports community members (women trans folk and men) who want to work together to challenge gender oppression on campus and in our communities. The FRC advocates for gender equity across campus through campaigns fundraisers events workshops and more! We provide an anti-oppressive inclusive non-judgmental pro-choice gender-positive feminist welcoming space that supports community members (women two-spirited folx trans folx non-binary/gender-conforming folx and men) who want to work together to challenge gender oppression on campus and in our communities. We work on sexual and reproductive health reproductive justice menstrual equity parenting sexual violence prevention support for survivors and any other type of work deemed relevant to the intersectionality of gender and other multiple coexisting identities. We work to provide support and empowerment for survivors of violence. We also create an open environment where you can find the resources and the people you need to make positive changes in your life finish that paper find new friends or just relax a bit.

Job Description
Gender oppression and gender-related issues are very present on campus and can often be put to the side and ignored. The FRC is looking for a feminist candidate to actively challenge these dynamics and promote equality and equity on all fronts throughout the uOttawa community. The Events Supervisor would be working closely with the Coordinator where their main role would entail creating and coordinating feminist events for students on campus.

Responsibilities

  • Remaining up-to-date on developments on intersectional feminist issues while actively engaging in self-directed learning to facilitate learning unlearning and relearning;
  • Ensuring the ongoing development growth increased visibility and promotion of the FRC its services campaigns and its programs;
  • Provide peer-to-peer support to the student body and provide appropriate resource referrals as need.
  • Perform administrative duties such as answering emails writing letters responding to phone calls writing reports planning programs developing resource lists etc.;
  • Participate in training workshops and events to expand educational background and professional skills that are required for the work at the FRC and the UOSU as a whole;
  • Prepare organize and host regular feminist events for students on campus such as discussion groups workshops trainings survivor-centred circles and more;

  • Collaborates and establishes partnerships with other UOSU departments clubs or off-campus organizations as required by the team;
  • Offering workshops on various feminist-related topics to students clubs recognized student governments (RSGs) and uOttawa faculties.
  • Creating and facilitating consistent promotional tabling events often in collaboration with off-campus organizations
  • Scheduling and facilitating class talks individually or with volunteers to promote the FRCs initiatives and programs.
  • Maintain a database of contacts to collaborate on various kinds of events with information from volunteers similar or interested parties external agencies on and off campus organizations recognized student bodies and NGOs etc.;
  • Ensure all the payment information is received to pay for any event expenses and communicate with the Coordinator of the FRC and the Director of Programs;
  • Assist in maintaining the FRC Newsletter emails Facebook Instagram Tik Tok Website and all other social media and outreach channels and continue to develop an outreach strategy to engage students at the University of Ottawa;
  • Contribute to the positive image and upbringing of the UOSU promote positivity and professionalism in the UOSU environment; and
  • Other related duties.

Qualifications

  • Must be a student at the University of Ottawa;
  • Experience in workshop event and discussion group creation and group facilitation;
  • Experience working with students marginalized populations and knowledge of intersectionality;
  • Demonstrated understanding of or experience in undertaking advocacy work regarding women or vulnerable populations;
  • Anti-oppressive approach with a focused feminist perspective;
  • Knowledge on survivor-centered approaches when dealing with survivors of gender-based violence;
  • Knowledge of modern feminist and gender-based issues that relate to youth and diverse individuals;
  • Solid understanding of group dynamics and the ability to create an inclusive environment;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Leadership and experience in student-led programming is an asset;
  • Understanding of equity and social justice theory and practice;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Google and internet software platforms;
  • A strong knowledge of uOttawa is an asset; and Knowledge of the UOSU its services businesses clubs associations and activities is an asset.
  • Bilingualism preferred
