The opportunity

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Courteously greet visitors to the Wolak Learning Center

  • Direct students seeking assistance to appropriate resources

  • Maintain front office forms resources and technologies

  • Assist with planning and setting up WLCevents to ensure smooth execution

  • Assist Coordinators with administrative tasks

  • Other projects as assigned by Wolak Learning Center staff

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate day student on the Manchester campus

  • Applicants should possess a positive attitude and willingness to help others

  • Good interpersonal communication skills and ease in relating to students from diverse backgrounds and abilities

  • Given the sensitive nature of the information in this area Office Assistants are expected to comply with confidentiality standards established for the position

  • Excellent level of responsibility reliability and punctuality

  • Work study part of financial aid package
  • Students with work study may be prioritized

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge Wolak Learning Centers services

  • Knowledge of various campus student services

  • Experience with design programs such as CanvaPro

  • Applicants should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite

  • Office Assistants will be expected to utilize their own computer where appropriate

Learning Outcomes:

  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Skilled at creating and implementing marketing initiatives

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Openness to other perspectives

Work Hours:

Office Assistants will be required to work a minimum of 3 3-hour shifts Monday Thursday between the hours of 9am 7:00pm Friday 9:am 4:30pm. Schedule will be dependent on candidates availability.

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills qualifications experience and internal equity in addition to relevant business considerations.
