Job Description

Overview

The Quality Support Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining and improving the companys Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AS9100 standards and customer requirements. This position provides administrative documentation and coordination support for various quality activities ensuring compliance process efficiency and product integrity within the aerospace and defense industry. This position is located in Huntsville AL.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the sustainment and improvement of corporate Quality Management System (QMS) including policies procedures and documentation.
  • Conduct internal audits to assess the effectiveness of the QMS.
  • Support tailoring of processes for project requirements.
  • Assist with gathering data for quarterly QM Reviews with C-Suite and close out tasks.
  • Work across departments to capture and mitigate enterprise risks.
  • Assist with external audits by accreditation groups.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with team members on quality systems and procedures.
  • Represent the organization on quality-related matters to stakeholders and proposals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Associate or bachelors degree in a technical Quality Management or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years in quality assurance administrative support or similar role preferably in aerospace or defense.
  • Familiarity with QMS concepts basic understanding of ISO 9001/AS9100 documentation control and nonconformance/corrective action processes.
  • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook).
  • Preferred skills:
    • SharePoint
    • PowerApps
    • AI tools
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

  • Knowledge of office administration and procedures.

  • Excellent communication teamwork and client service skills; ability to clearly communicate in discussions and written documents and to deliver feedback clearly and tactfully.

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regular i3 hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday however additional hours may be required on occasion. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
