About the Role
As a Senior Security Systems Administrator you will be responsible for implementing managing and retiring infrastructureincluding physical virtual networking and cloud systemsthat supports secure digital services. Youll assess complex environments for cyber security vulnerabilities conduct workshops and provide actionable recommendations for remediation. This role requires a deep understanding of cyber security principles and hands-on experience with security system design threat analysis and countermeasure development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess systems and configurations for cyber security issues.
- Conduct workshops and run assessment tooling to gather information.
- Recommend remediation strategies for identified vulnerabilities.
Technical Expertise:
- Security system design tools and integration techniques.
- Cyber security and privacy principles (confidentiality integrity availability etc.).
- Countermeasure design and threat/vulnerability analysis.
- Programming skills in languages such as Java or C.
The Successful Candidate
To be considered you must:
- Be an Australian citizen with a current NV1 (Negative Vetting Level 1) clearance.
- Have a minimum of 5 years experience in a cyber security role.
- Demonstrate experience with frameworks such as CIS CSC NIST SP 800-53 and the Cyber Security Framework.
- Be capable of assessing and improving system resilience and dependability.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Candidates must be willing to undergo an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) which includes a psychological evaluation. This assessment covers areas such as personal relationships values financial situation health history and any civil or military records.
What is on Offer
- Contract Duration:12 months with two possible 12-month extensions.
- Locations:Canberra ACT Adelaide SA Melbourne VIC.
- Work Arrangements:Full-time (up to 40 hours/week) with potential for flexible working arrangements.
- Security Clearance:NV1 required at time of application. Candidates with a Defence Intelligence Agency-recognised OSA are highly preferred.
- Commencement:Dependent on OSA outcome and recruitment lead time (approx. 3 months).

Location: The role is based in Canberra ACT Adelade SA or Melbourne VIC
Contract terms: 12 months from commencement date
Extension Options: 2x 12 month extension are available at our clients discretion.
Security Requirements: Candidates must hold a minimum NV1 Security Clearance to be considered for this position. A OSA (Organisational Suitability Assessment) will be required for this position.
