Matrix Providers is hiring a Registered NurseLactation Consultant (Maternal Child Dept Postpartum) to join our team of talented professionals providing healthcare services to Military Service Members and their families at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth VA.
- Employment Status: PRN
- Compensation: This is a salaried position paid bi-weekly.
- Schedule: Mon-Sun 6:30 am -6:00 pm. 8.5 to 10.5 hour shifts. Shall provide services approximately one (1) weekend per month on a rotational basis. Typical shifts include nights weekends 12-hour shifts 6:45 am -7:15 pm; 6:45 pm- 7:15 am or 8-hour shifts 6:45 am -3:15 pm; 10:45 am -7:15 pm; 2:45 pm- 11:15 pm; 6:45 pm - 3:15 am; 10:45 pm - 7:15 am)

Requirements:
- Education: Associates Degree of Nursing
- Experience: Possess a minimum of 1 year experience as an RN within the last two years
- Certifications: Board Certification. Possess and maintain certification as a lactation consultant as determined by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE). In addition to Basic Life Support (BLS) possess and maintain certification of Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
- Licensure: Current full active and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse. Possess and maintain certification as a lactation consultant.
Job Summary:
- Actively promote breastfeeding and develop and implement standards of care and guidelines for assisting breastfeeding mothers in all areas of the organization as well as existing programs such as: OB Childbirth Education and Breastfeeding classes.
- Be responsible for organizing information and preparing marketing material to promote breastfeeding collaborating with Department Heads from Pediatrics Family Practice and OB/GYN for patient care education.
