The opportunity

The SNHU Makerspace is looking for curious creative and reliable student employees to join our team! As a Makerspace Assistant youll help students faculty and staff bring their ideas to life by supporting the use of our 3D printers laser engravers Cricut machines and more. Youll gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology build leadership and communication skills and play a key role in keeping the Makerspace welcoming safe and running smoothly.

Responsibilities:

  • Help users with 3D printing laser engraving Cricut and other Makerspace tools/equipment.

  • Provide tours and answer questions about the Makerspace and its equipment.

  • Encourage safe and responsible use of equipment by enforcing space rules and policies.

  • Maintain a clean organized space and assist with tool upkeep and inventory.

  • Support special projects and events (ex: workshops classes etc.).

  • Contribute to a friendly and inclusive environment where all users feel welcome.

Who Were Looking For:

  • Enthusiastic students who enjoy learning problem-solving and helping others.

  • Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset.

  • Comfortable giving presentations to classes or larger audiences.

  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Skilled at teaching and able to effectively introduce new technologies to users with a wide range of experience levels.

  • Bonus if you have experience with 3D printing Adobe Creative Suite or other maker tools.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current enrollment in classes as part of a SNHU degree program

  • Must have Work Study as part of your financial aid package.

  • Students with work study may be prioritized

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills qualifications experience and internal equity in addition to relevant business considerations.
