The Opportunity

Our Course Development team develops online safety courses that help individuals and organizations stay educated compliant with safety regulations and ultimately reduce the risk of workplace injuries.

Were looking for a strategic and hands-on Course Development Lead to manage a small team of instructional designers and elevate the quality performance and value of our digital learning offerings. In this role youll lead course design and development initiatives that directly support three key objectives: driving revenue supporting business continuity and enhancing client relationships.

Youll collaborate cross-functionally with sales client experience and the leadership team to align learning content with evolving market needs client requests and company strategy.

This role is about execution and leadership. You wont just manage timelines - youll lead a skilled team oversee multiple projects and ensure that course development efforts are aligned with departmental priorities and focused on delivering engaging impactful content. The way content is crafted and presented is central to our mission: we are building courses that foster proactive safety mindsets encourage responsible behavior and shape everyday habits that strengthen a culture of safety.

This is an in-person role based out of our Sherwood Park office.

In this role youll be expected to:

    • Drive revenue by winning in high-demand competitive course categories across our marketplace.
    • Support business continuity by owning development of top-selling and mission-critical courses in the transportation construction mining and oil & gas industries.
    • Enhance client relationships by delivering custom course solutions as a high-impact value-added service.
    • Drive team coordination and accountability by organizing workflows setting clear priorities and ensuring alignment across all course projects.
    • Run the team and run the projects -managing people and timelines while keeping your eye on quality and output.
    • Ensure quality and consistency across all deliverables by reviewing content visuals and functionality before client delivery.
    • Scope and quote new course development projects by translating internal or client needs into clear timelines and cost estimates.
    • Lead client communication as the primary point of contact throughout course builds - handling updates decisions and feedback loops.
    • Own end-to-end project management from initial kickoff through delivery including resource allocation and cross-team coordination.
    • Coordinate across departments to align course development with broader business objectives content strategy and technical requirements.
    • Identify opportunities to improve processes through the adoption of the latest technologies including AI and automation to streamline development and enhance course quality.
    • Contribute to internal planning identifying which courses we need to develop for the network.

    • Bring a blend of people management experience and a background in instructional design e-learning or curriculum development.
    • Understand project-based work and thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
    • Are excited about using new tools and emerging technologies -especially AI - to work smarter and deliver better results.

Bonus points if you have:

    • Experience in safety training or regulatory course development.
    • Familiarity with government course approval processes or industry-specific standards.
    • Instructional design background or LMS knowledge.
    • Experience with international content strategy or outreach.
    • Bilingual or multilingual communication skills.
$65000 - $85000 a year
Salary ranges are based on experience reflecting the unique skillset each individual brings to the role.
