Property Accountant About the Job:

The ideal candidate is highly motivated and capable of managing a high volume of work efficiently. A strong accounting background and analytical skills are essential for overseeing the financial activities of a portfolio of properties. Key responsibilities include preparing financial reports maintaining the general ledger and handling other assigned accounting tasks. Strong Excel skills excellent organizational abilities and the capacity to work independently are required. Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the month-end close including preparation and review of journal entries accounts receivable/cash and accounts payable transactions
- Prepares and provides accurate and timely monthly financial statements
- Prepares the month-end accounting closing packet for assigned companies and owners
- Communicate effectively and clearly with all internal and external customers
- Identifies and proposes solutions for automation and process improvement while ensuring daily responsibilities are completed with detail accuracy and timeliness
- Reconcile bank deposits and credit card payments daily to the general ledger for a number of store locations
- Research and solve discrepancies including data input errors or system errors
- Take the lead on projects and tasks as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience
- 4-6 years Bookkeeping/Accounting Experience
- Property Accounting experience required
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and best practices
- Ability to work effectively with team members and other leaders to achieve goals and successfully implement business initiatives
- Excellent planning skills with the ability to define analyze and resolve issues quickly and accurately
- Effective interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to handle multiple priorities successfully
- Flexible adaptable and can adjust to a rapidly changing and growing environment
- Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up
- Self-motivated; able to meet deadlines; organized; dependable
- Very good with data analysis critical thinking and problem-solving
