Title: Sales Officer Smart Insure

Department: Corporate Sales

Reporting: Head of Corporate Sales

Based at: Nairobi Kenya


Job Purpose

We are seeking a results-driven Sales Officer to lead the commercial rollout and revenue generation of SmartInsure our end-to-end medical insurance back-office management platform. With the product now market-ready this role is critical in securing new clients driving adoption and positioning SmartInsure as the solution of choice for insurers TPAs reinsurers and healthcare administrators.


The ideal candidate will combine strong insurance domain knowledge with B2B solution sales expertise. You will act as the face of the product in the market responsible for identifying sales opportunities building relationships with decision-makers managing the sales pipeline and closing deals.


Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

1. Revenue Ownership & Growth

  • Own sales targets and be directly accountable for meeting or exceeding revenue goals for SmartInsure.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase recurring and project-based revenue streams.
  • Monitor pipeline health forecast sales and report performance metrics to leadership.

2. Sales Strategy & Market Development

  • Develop and execute a go-to-market sales plan for SmartInsure targeting insurers TPAs and healthcare organizations.
  • Identify prioritize and pursue new business opportunities across regional and international markets.
  • Conduct market segmentation and prospect targeting based on strategic value and fit.
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts to drive account expansion and lifetime value.

3. Client Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Engage directly with C-level executives product heads and operational leaders to understand pain points and present SmartInsure s value proposition.
  • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline from lead generation to deal closure.
  • Represent SmartInsure at industry events conferences and trade shows to build brand presence and generate leads.

4. Solution Selling & Product Positioning

  • Articulate SmartInsure s business value functionality and competitive advantages tailored to client needs.
  • Deliver persuasive product demonstrations and support customized proposals with input from technical teams.
  • Stay informed on competitor offerings and adjust sales narratives accordingly.

5. Bid & Proposal Management

  • Lead the preparation of proposals RFP responses pricing negotiations and contract finalizations.
  • Coordinate with pre-sales legal and delivery teams to ensure smooth handover and accurate scoping.

6. Performance Monitoring Collaboration & Feedback Loop

  • Monitor product KPIs including adoption usage claim processing times revenue contribution and user satisfaction.
  • Work closely with the product marketing and delivery teams to align messaging refine go-to-market materials and provide market feedback.
  • Act as a client advocate internally to ensure product-market alignment and customer-centric delivery.
  • Provide regular insightful sales reports and pipeline updates to leadership including risks blockers and action plans.
  • Leverage CRM systems and sales enablement tools to manage leads track interactions and ensure data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of all sales activities and customer engagements.


Requirements

Academic & Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Business Insurance Marketing Sales or a related field. Insurance certification is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in B2B solution sales preferably in InsurTech healthcare IT or enterprise software.
  • Strong understanding of insurance operations including underwriting claims reinsurance and digital transformation trends.
  • Proven ability to manage complex sales cycles and deliver against revenue targets.
  • Strong understanding of insurance industry operations and workflows with Strong knowledge of insurance compliance standards


Skills Knowledge and Abilities

  • Sales Leadership: Self-starter with a strong track record of consultative sales and business development.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with insurance technology healthcare workflows and the competitive landscape.
  • Communication: Excellent presentation negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Client-Centric Approach: Ability to build trust uncover needs and offer tailored solutions.
  • Execution-Oriented: Organized persistent and accountable for results.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Revenue Growth: Direct product contribution to top-line revenue.
  • Sales Pipeline: Volume quality and conversion of leads and opportunities.
  • Client Acquisition: Number of new customers signed and deals closed.
  • Sales Velocity: Time to close average deal size and win rates.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Feedback on sales experience and solution fit.
  • Product Competitiveness: Win rate in tenders feature gap vs. competitors.
