Key Responsibilities
Assist with planning and executing external audits across a varied client portfolio.
Support preparation of statutory financial statements in line with UK GAAP and company law
Perform audit testing procedures and document findings to inform audit opinions
Undertake bookkeeping and basic financial analysis under guidance
Collaborate with senior colleagues on client queries and project work
Develop proficiency in accounting software and internal systems
Maintain high standards of accuracy adhering to firm processes and quality controls
Candidate Profile
Educated to A-level standard (or equivalent) with 5 GCSEs at grades 9-4/A*-C (inc. Maths & English); degree in a relevant discipline preferred
Genuine interest in audit accounts and progression through professional bodies (AAT ACCA or ACA)
Strong numerical and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
Clear and confident communicator both written and verbal
Excellent organisation and time-management able to juggle multiple priorities
Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with accounting software advantageous
Positive team player with a proactive flexible approach to learning
