Piping Technical Lead

The company designs manufactures and installs components fuel and instrumentation and control systems for nuclear power plants and offers a full range of reactor services.
The position of Piping Technical Lead aims at supporting the field design activities for the piping discipline. It will lead to handle different interfaces with several disciplines and solve piping engineering topics raised during on-site installation of pipework and associated supports. The main tasks will be the following:
Gathering input data analysing/updating hypothesis notes and preparing loading description reports.
Engaging with various stakeholders (installation contractors CW interfaces other disciplines) to clarify issues.
Performing mechanical stress analyses: piping flexibility calculations piping supports calculations or any analysis required to resolve encountered issues.
Proposing appropriate and proportionate modifications if sizing criteria are not met.
Closing open points and comments.
Assessing and integrating modification coming from the stakeholders after packages handed over to JDO.
Doing hand calculations and running anchorages macros to assess the feasibility of modification.
Checking calculation notes and guide drawings subcontracted to external companies.
Maintaining Edvances QA procedures in delivering the design.
Working with CAD designers/detailers in the preparation of the design drawings.
Being the Piping Design technical referent within the Piping discipline and within the JDO-DT.
Supporting each collaborator regarding piping design technical topics.
Supporting the piping discipline lead regarding specific and transverse technical issues. Looking for best Project decision including when multiple technical solutions are identified.
Reviewing and approving site queries on behalf of the discipline lead.
Escalating risk and need for prioritisation when needed.
Identifying and developing standard field solutions and repair actions.
Identifying and implementing improvements for their current scope or report suggested improvement to Discipline Lead.
Key relationships:
The employee will be highly interacting with the discipline manager to support them in the organization of the team. They will be in charge of interacting with the different stakeholders to ensure the closure of site queries in compliance with the HPC project milestones.
Essential Qualifications Experience and Skills:
Master in science Mechanical engineering degree
First experience of 5 years minimum in Piping Mechanical design nuclear industry or equivalent experience
Knowledge of EUROCODE ASME and RCC-M code
Knowledge of the piping sequence including detailed design execution design manufacturing installation and commissioning
Knowledge of 2D and 3D design software: PDMS (if possible) NavisWorks PIPESTRESS RSTAB ANSYS APDL and WORKBENCH
Knowledge of piping and support calculation tools
Interpersonal skills analytical and synthetic skills. Strong reactivity to respond to site demands
Ability to work under pressure and to meet commitments and deadlines
Experience working in a multicultural environment
Curious motivated to learn
Desirable Qualifications Experience and Skills:
Knowledge of the HPC project or previous EPR and associated studies/doctrine is a real asset
Knowledge of Nuclear engineering and specificities building NI CI & BoP buildings would be beneficial.
Excellent Interpersonal skills conscientiousness organisation writing ability
Good organizational writing and oral expression skills in English are essential for the realization of the activities of document production steering and interfaces with the various correspondents.
Ability to meet commitments and deadlines.
Level of Experience: 5 years of professional experience post-graduation

The engineer should possess good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. The engineer have the ability to take a strategic view manage a multiplicity of interfaces summarise be proactive and meet commitments and deadlines. The engineer will be required to write clearly-expressed and well-presented technical documents and apply logical thinking.
