Job Description
Nature of Work: Under the direction of the Principal/President performs maintenance of building and grounds maintains building security and safety may serve as a lead worker and may
perform work of other maintenance and custodial staff as needed.
Examples of Work:
Performs maintenance of school building and grounds.
- Makes various minor carpentry electrical and HVAC repairs not requiring the services of a licensed specialist.
- Provides normal upkeep of facilities such as painting and interior repair work in alllocations.
- Maintains building security and safety.
- Reports potential problem areas as they relate to buildings and grounds safety andsecurity.

Employment Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- One year of technical vocational training or trade school or specialized training inelectrical heating cooling plumbing maintenance and carpentry or combination of training and experience is desired.
- 2 years of similar job experience.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen.
- Possession of valid Michigan Drivers License.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand sit bend twist stoop reach and grasp walk push pull or liftmaterials or equipment weighing 50 pounds or more. Ability to use ladders handcart power tools shovel rake snow blower vacuum mop and floor buffer.
- Must be able to perform frequent pushing or pulling of product weighing up to250 pounds on a dolly or cart as well as occasional pushing or pulling of freightweighing up to 90 pounds without a mechanical aid.
- Must be able to manually lower and raise lift attach and release safety chainsopen and close cargo doors climb into and off of vehicles and check engine fluidlevels.
Additional Requirements:
- Maintain a positive customer service attitude (internal and external).
- Work independently without supervision.
- Ability to see and hear read write and communicate effectively.
- Work a determined schedule that might include early mornings evenings andweekends.
- Take and follow direction.
- Organize work successfully and give attention to detail.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Meet deadlines.
- Perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
