Shift: 1st shift; OT & some Saturdays.
Location: Brea CA
Youll Do: Troubleshoot & repair CNC manual machine tools hydraulics pneumatics facility & basic electrical (up to 480V assist). Perform PMs support installs & moves.
You Bring: 7 yrs industrial maintenance; strong mechanical; machining environment experience; read prints & schematics; safety-first (LOTO).

Our confidential client runs a busy precision machining operation supporting critical industrial customers. Uptime matters. Were hiring a seasoned Maintenance Mechanic to keep CNC and manual machining equipment running safely and efficiently support facility repairs and lead or assist on equipment installations & moves. If youre the go-to troubleshooter who can jump from a spindle fault to a hydraulic leak and then help relocate a mill we want to talk.
What Youll DoDiagnose troubleshoot and repair CNC & manual machining equipment (mills lathes grinders saws machining centers).
Perform & document preventive maintenance on machine tools coolant & lubrication systems chip conveyors mist collectors and related support systems.
Mechanical systems: bearings linear ways ball screws spindles couplings gearboxes belts chains.
Hydraulic & pneumatic systems: cylinders valves regulators seals lines; repair leaks; pressure testing.
Basic electrical support: assist or perform low-to-medium voltage troubleshooting (drives contactors sensors limit switches VFD alarms); coordinate with licensed electrician for high-voltage work as needed.
Conduct facility maintenance & repairs (lighting compressed air coolant distribution shop utilities minor building repairs).
Support machine installation leveling alignment and relocation projects; rigging coordination.
Collaborate with production & engineering to schedule downtime and prioritize urgent repairs.
Track work in CMMS / maintenance logs; close work orders & parts usage.
Enforce and follow LOTO PPE and all safety procedures.
Minimum:
7 years industrial maintenance experience in machining fabrication or heavy manufacturing environment.
Proven hands-on work with CNC and manual machining equipment (troubleshooting axes spindles lubrication coolant guarding motion controls).
Mechanical troubleshooting across hydraulic pneumatic and mechanical drive systems.
Basic electrical understanding (able to safely work around panels with a meter under supervision; reset faults; replace sensors/relays).
Ability to read & interpret mechanical drawings equipment manuals and simple electrical schematics.
Comfortable performing facility repairs and staging equipment for move/installation.
Self-directed: can work independently prioritize communicate ETA to supervisors escalate when parts are needed.
Preferred / Nice to Have:
CNC control familiarity (Fanuc Siemens Haas Okuma Mazak).
Experience aligning/leveling precision machine tools.
Welding/fabrication skills (MIG/TIG) for brackets & guards.
Basic PLC I/O troubleshooting.
CMMS exposure (e.g. Maintenance Connection eMaint COGZ Fiix).
Forklift & overhead crane certification.
Standing/walking most of shift; bending kneeling climbing ladders.
Lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs (team assist above).
Exposure to cutting fluids metal chips noise moving machinery. PPE provided.
