Traincrew Diagram Manager
When trains run smoothly it often comes down to clever planning behind the scenes. Thats where you come in. As part of our Resource Planning team youll help shape the day-to-day running of services right across the North. Your work will make sure our Traincrew diagrams the schedules used by our drivers and conductors are efficient reliable and safe.From supporting timetable changes to planning around engineering works youll play a vital role in keeping everything on track. Its a job that combines logic strategy and problem-solving and its perfect if you like the idea of being at the heart of the railway even if youre not behind the controls.
What youll be doing
Producing long-term and special traffic Traincrew diagrams in line with safety guidelines and industry deadlines
Working closely with colleagues in Service Planning to make sure diagram changes are deliverable and agreed by Traincrew
Preparing documents for staff consultation and supporting conversations around route coverage and service changes
Investigating issues providing solutions and finding ways to reduce unnecessary travel for our people (think: fewer taxis more efficiency)
Responding to operational incidents reviewing the impact on diagrams and helping us learn for next time
About you
You dont need to come in with deep knowledge of Traincrew agreements but you do need an eye for detail and the curiosity to learn fast. If youve worked in railway operations youll know how important it is to get the planning right. And even if you havent a good grasp of geography strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure will stand you in good stead.
Railway geography route knowledge and operational experience thats three things youll bring to the table. Youll also be someone who communicates clearly collaborates well with others and knows how to solve problems with calm clear thinking.
