At the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) our mission is to regulate in a way that builds trust and confidence in Scottish charities holds them to account and strengthens their ability to positively contribute to society. Were looking for a collaborative empowering leader someone who can champion change and inspire innovation across our teams and the sector.
As Head of Regulation and Improvement youll be at the forefront of our continued transformation into a more proactive targeted and risk-based regulator. Youll lead with purpose influence national policy and help ensure that Scotlands 25000 charities continue to thrive and deliver impact where it matters most. Leading two teams Regulation and Policy and Sector Improvement to help us regulate in a way which achieves our mission.
A key priority for OSCR over the next year is to develop our new Corporate Strategy to deliver our mission in a context of wider change including in the charity sector. You will play a key role in shaping that strategy through your leadership and engagement.

Success Profile
Experience:
Experience in leading organisational change or a change initiative while managing risk and outcomes.
Experience in empowering and managing a large team to deliver a service or delivery-oriented programme with competing demands.
Experience in ensuring a delivery programme or service meets customer expectations while staying fully compliant with all relevant laws and regulations.

How to apply
The Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) is the independent regulator and registrar for about 25000 charities in Scotland. These include community groups religious organisations schools universities grant-making bodies and care providers. OSCR is a non-ministerial organisation accountable to its Board and the Scottish Parliament.
All charities operating in Scotland must register with OSCR and meet annual reporting requirements. OSCR supports charities with guidance investigates concerns and takes action when there is evidence of misconduct or mismanagement.
OSCRs work is guided by theCharities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and more recently theCharities (Regulation and Administration) (Scotland) Act 2023 which introduced new duties such as publishing a register of trustee names.

Working Pattern
Our standard working week is 35 hours. We understand the importance of work-life balance and offer a range of flexibleworking options depending on the needs of the role. OSCR operates a hybrid working model with an expectation that staff attend our Dundee office at least two days per week.
