Job Description
As a Courier you will:
- Safety Compliance: Operate vehicles in strict adherence to HSSE policies and procedures.
- Vehicle Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections reporting any issues immediately.
- Cargo Security: Ensure freight is properly secured in accordance with local state and federal regulations.
- Driving Operations: Safely operate sub-CDL vehicles in different environments to deliver customer freight.
- Warehouse Pickup: Collect orders from the warehouse and prepare them for delivery.
- Task Prioritization: Complete day-to-day activities based on customer needs and urgency.
- Dock Assistance: Assist on the dock and with two-person deliveries when required.
- Housekeeping: Maintain clean and organized workspaces ensuring proper care of materials.
- Event Recorder Maintenance: Monitor and maintain rear-facing event recorders.
- Tablet Management: Update tablet records based on delivery and pickup orders.
- Dispatcher Communication: Maintain communication with the terminal dispatcher and warehouse to receive delivery instructions.
- Log Maintenance: Accurately maintain courier stop-logs and jockey sheets.
- Customer Interaction: Handle customer inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Roadside Repairs: Perform basic emergency roadside repairs when necessary.
- Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
21 years of age
Valid Class D drivers license
Valid Medical Card or ability to obtain a valid Medical Card
One to two years of driving experience as a Courier preferred
Previous material handling HAZMAT and forklift experience preferred
