Job Description

Job Title Regional Director of Resident Programs

Supervisor Vice President of Resident Programs & Memory Care

FLSA Status Exempt/Salaried

Purpose

The Regional Director of Resident Programs ensures assigned communities are provided with new Resident Program Associate onboarding 6-Hour Dementia facilitator and VDT facilitator training. Additionally providing ongoing support in the assigned communities to ensure the integrity and consistency of CSLs standard of excellence in Resident Programs and Memory Care is achieved and maintained. The Regional Director of Resident Programs will provide ongoing mentoring and coaching support to Program Associates and assist the Vice President of Resident Programs & Memory Care in special projects as assigned. This is a travel position and weekly travel to communities in assigned region is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree and/or relevant senior living experience and certifications are preferred. Certified Activity Consultant Certified Dementia Practitioner/trainer are a plus.
  • 5-10 years of experience working with people with dementia in a senior living environment preferred.
  • Ability to train associates on the fundamentals of dementia CSL Sweet Memories protocol and company standards
  • Broad knowledge of memory loss and related dementias
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents families staff community officials state regulatory agencies hospitals and the general public
  • Must pass all background checks including DMV background check with acceptable driving record.
  • Motivational & engaging leadership creativity and teamwork skills are required
  • Company travel required with overnight stays
  • Compassionate and passionate leader with flexibility and ability to change course and travel plans quickly to support assigned communities effectively

Job Requirements

  • Ability to support community associates using independent judgment

  • Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Must have ability to coordinate a variety of tasks simultaneously

Areas of Responsibility

  • Adherence to CSL standards and policies.
  • Maintain current knowledge of activities and memory care state regulations for states CSL operates in and ensure compliance with Resident Programs regulations in all communities
  • Coordinate and implement the onboarding and training of new Program Directors Program Assistants.
  • Utilize systems to minimize company risk exposure including reviewing resident incident reports and resident evaluation tools documentation and TSOLife
  • Conduct routine audits of Resident Programs to ensure highest quality and standards are maintained.
  • Ensure consistency in the delivery of Signature Programs across the portfolio
  • Responsible for ensuring associates receive required dementia training audits communities for compliance with required training
  • Provide training / education and support at the community level to include dementia training VDT training delivery of signature programs mentoring of new associates and other training as assigned.
  • Ensure Program Directors are successful and their residents are participating in purpose-filled engagement based on their individual interests and abilities
  • Support efforts to maintain/increase referrals by conducting community educational presentations.
  • Assist VP in the research development and training of new Resident Programs.
  • Required driver must be insurable on company insurance and be 21 years of age or older
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical/Sensory Requirements

Light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and / or up to 10 pounds of force frequently.

Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for sedentary work.

Sitting and standing for long periods of time while traveling and working in communities.
