Job Description
Job Title: Senior Project Manager Salesforce CRM Implementation
Location: Sunnyvale CA (Local candidates highly preferred)
Duration: 12 Months Contract
Position Type: Contract
Remote: Onsite preferred; some hybrid flexibility possible
Project Overview
The City of Sunnyvale is undertaking a full CRM transformation by replacing its legacy Microsoft Dynamics CRM system with Salesforce CRM. The Senior Project Manager (PM) will lead this full-cycle implementation and serve as the Citys key liaison across internal departments and with the Salesforce implementation partner.
The PM will ensure the project stays within scope timeline and budget—providing leadership throughout planning design integration data migration testing training go-live and post-go-live stabilization.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Citys representative throughout the CRM implementation.
- Manage third-party vendor(s) ensuring accountability for contracts deliverables and timelines.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration across City departments to gather requirements and facilitate effective communication.
- Oversee all project phases including:
- Planning & Analysis
- System Design & Configuration
- Data Migration (from MS Dynamics to Salesforce)
- System Integration (with City tools such as GIS Work Order Systems)
- Testing & UAT
- Training and Documentation
- Go-Live & Post Go-Live Support
- Track and manage project schedule risks budget and scope.
- Ensure adherence to public sector procurement and governance processes.
Mandatory Requirements
Skill/Area Requirement Total IT Experience
Yes 10 years preferred)
Project Management Experience
Yes with a strong track record of leading complex IT projects
Salesforce CRM Implementation
Required — direct hands-on PM experience
Government/Public Sector Experience
Required — experience with municipalities cities or agencies
Highly Desired Skills (Preferred but not Mandatory)
- Experience working with Catalyst Consulting Group on similar Salesforce projects
- Hands-on experience managing CRM migrations from Microsoft Dynamics to Salesforce
- Familiarity with government system integrations such as:
- GIS (Geographic Information Systems)
- Work Order Management
- Salesforce certifications (PMP or Agile certifications are also a plus).
