You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailKendrick Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Technical Manager for a luxury property group based in Botswana. This key role will oversee all technical operations across a portfolio of lodges staff villages and reserve infrastructure with a strong focus on sustainability and operational excellence.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance operation and improvement of critical systems including solar power electrical networks water treatment and distribution and general infrastructure. The role supports the brand s commitment to world-class guest experiences and environmental stewardship.
Maintenance & Operations Oversight
Provide expert advice on all maintenance-related activities
Manage both reactive and preventative maintenance
Oversee deployment and scheduling of maintenance teams and contractors
Conduct routine inspections and audits of infrastructure
Energy & Water Systems Management
Design implement and maintain solar energy systems
Manage electrical systems (single-phase and three-phase)
Oversee water purification greywater and sewage treatment plants
Lead sustainability initiatives in energy and water conservation
Project & Site Management
Act as project manager for construction and infrastructure upgrades
Supervise contractors artisans and suppliers
Collaborate with lodge managers to identify priorities and provide updates
Training & Staff Development
Recruit and manage technical staff (e.g. electricians plumbers carpenters)
Provide training in safety best practices and sustainability
Foster a team culture of accountability and craftsmanship
Financial & Administrative Management
Support budgeting processes for maintenance and CAPEX
Oversee procurement and inventory of supplies and tools
Maintain systems for reporting cost tracking and procurement compliance
Leadership & Communication
Conduct daily briefings to coordinate tasks and review progress
Maintain open communication with lodge and operations teams
Participate in management meetings contributing technical insight
Lead by example through professionalism and a strong work ethic
Required Experience & Technical Expertise
3 5 years experience in a senior technical role within hospitality
Hands-on knowledge of:
Solar power systems
Water treatment and greywater systems
Single and three-phase electrical systems
Plumbing and sewage infrastructure
Refrigeration air conditioning and general building maintenance
Relevant technical qualifications preferred (Electrical Solar Mechanical)
Ability to interpret technical and construction drawings
Valid driver s licence required

Coordinate artisans contractors and procurement effectively
Office & Administrative Duties
Maintain accurate HR records in collaboration with Human Capital department
Oversee staff performance reviews wellness and retention
Manage inventory control and supplier negotiations
Maintain records of equipment and ensure regular servicing
