Senior Backend Software Engineer (Java), B2B Data Infrastructure Team (Open to remote across ANZ)

About the Group/team

The B2B Data Infrastructure team is laying the foundation for Canvas next phase of growth. As part of our broader B2B mission were focused on empowering our go-to-market teams with rich real-time data fueling smarter targeting faster lead qualification and deeply personalised customer journeys.

Operating as a platform team we partner across Product Marketing and Sales to unlock scalable data-driven experiences that turn interest into revenue. Our systems power critical functions such as lead intelligence intent detection audience segmentation and large-scale profile enrichment.

Looking ahead were exploring the frontier of generative AI large language models and first-party data to build adaptive intelligent systems designed to surface the right opportunities at the right time with the right message.

At the moment this role is focused on

• Building the capabilities needed to support the vision for the Business Personalisation Service
• Building efficient and reusable backend components driving our core B2B Data Infrastructure platform capabilities
• Identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks
• Participating in design and code reviews and helping to identify and communicate standard practices and methodologies for backend engineering.

Youre probably a match if you have

• Five-plus (5) years of commercial experience developing sophisticated distributed web applications on the JVM; experience writing Java and strong software architecture skills
• Strong understanding of computer science and object-oriented engineering fundamentals as well as concurrency multithreading data structures and design patterns
• Comfortable working on our core BE stack: Java Python AWS DBT Snowflake
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• You have knowledge of CI/CD and different testing techniques to write highly reliable code
• Ability to write clean reusable code for backend components including appropriate testing
• Hands-on experience using AI in coding/programming to drive greater impact
