Job Title: Director Curriculum and Assessment

The director of curriculum and assessment plays a key role in supporting academic excellence by coordinating curriculum development program assessment and faculty-driven initiatives. This position ensures that Lindenwood University maintains high-quality academic offerings and a learner-centric approach that fosters student success.

Job Responsibilities and Execution
- Collaborates with the Provost to support curriculum innovation and academic planning efforts
- Assists in the development and implementation of academic policies procedures and best practices to ensure effective program delivery
- Works with faculty and academic leadership to review and update curriculum ensuring alignment with accreditation standards and institutional goals
- Supports academic partnerships and collaborative initiatives that enhance student learning opportunities
- Oversees general education curriculum assessment and ensures alignment with institutional learning outcomes
- Provides guidance on curriculum assessment ensuring programs meet academic and accreditation standards
- Works with faculty and academic committees to develop assessment strategies that support continuous improvement
- Supports faculty development in assessment best practices curriculum design and program evaluation
- Serves as a liaison to faculty committees ensuring faculty involvement in curriculum decisions and assessment initiatives
- Collaborates with academic departments to ensure assessment results inform program improvements
- Assists academic programs in meeting specialized accreditation requirements and preparing necessary reports
- Ensures academic program assessment aligns with accreditation expectations but defers institutional accreditation oversight to the Institutional Effectiveness leader
Leadership and Strategic Thinking
- Establishes long- and short-term strategic goals based on assessment data and ensures standards for the department and its field are met or exceeded
- Adapts and modifies leadership based on new information and/or data; works to set and unite people on the new direction
- Utilizes effective strategies to build collaboration for maximum execution
- Aligns division/department purpose and actions with relevant University initiatives and higher education trends

Required Qualifications An equivalent combination of education training and experience will be considered. Additional requirements may be designated by position.
- Doctorate degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 5 years experience in curriculum development academic program assessment and faculty support
Knowledge Skills and Abilities May be representative but not all inclusive of the knowledge skills and abilities necessary to perform this job competently.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
- Demonstrated leadership experience in administrative positions within a university setting (e.g. department chair director assistant/associate dean)
- Strong knowledge of university operations academic administration policies and procedures
- Ability to work collaboratively within the university community to support academic program excellence
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage and support faculty and staff
- Strong analytical planning and organizational skills with attention to detail and deadlines
