A Day in the Life

Under the leadership of the Strategic Program Manager the Training Manager leads the training teams to establish the training plans for transformational initiatives for Global Pricing & Contracting in close cooperation with business partners. The Training Manager helps the entire organization leaders and employees navigate through critical change and transformation without disrupting business continuity by creating and implementing comprehensive training plans.

This role will require up to 25% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversee the planning development and delivery of in-house training and materials that support key transformation initiatives business line communications and programs for Global Pricing & Contracting (P&C) teams along with OU teams and commercial employees.
  • Manage the training team.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop the training strategy in conjunction with other leaders with Global Pricing & Contracting and annual training plan for key business priorities.
  • Oversee the development and ongoing updates for an annual calendar of training events.
  • Ensure training program(s) meets business and program objectives.
  • Work across multiple programs (defined as per P&C priorities which could include global initiatives) with varying demands and objectives by acting as an integral member of that initiative.
  • Recommend ways of working to align with agile development that addresses training needs.
  • Develop plans for different service models for differing impact levels.
  • Oversee education effectiveness through systematic program evaluation and continuous improvement strategy.
  • Acquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of the companys policies principles and strategies and keep up to date with relevant developments.
  • Manage upskilling of trainers to meet the needs of Global P&C initiatives.

Required capabilities:

  • Experience leading and managing the execution of processes projects and tactics for training that drives learner success.
  • Internal training experience with core businessacumen and a general understanding of healthcare marketplace.
  • Experience managing performance to learner success KPIs.
  • Proven success influencing and aligning product owners and project members.
  • Experience managing a team.
  • Strong working knowledge of Training & Education build and delivery processes.
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal written andnegotiation in English.
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Experience implementing new and exciting ways to engage communicate and reach a diverse global population.
  • Work well under pressure meets tight deadlines motivated to work autonomously.
  • Passion and ability to develop and deliver impactful training.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and to coordinate projects efficiently and effectively; adjust to shiftingpriorities; ability to negotiate priorities.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft suite including Excel PowerPoint Word Outlook Teams OneDrive SharePoint; project management tools including Smartsheets Jira or Miro; video creation tools using Camtasia; and technical systems knowledge of Salesforce.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONAL CAREER STREAM:Management and supervisory professionals with one or more employees who are focused on tactical operational and some strategic activities within a specified area. Levels within the management career stream typically have six or more direct reports. The majority of time is spent overseeing their area of responsibility managing performance developing talent engagement and inclusion communicating business and operational developments planning prioritizing and / or directing the responsibilities of direct reports. Goal achievement is typically accomplished through performance of direct and / or indirect reports. A key responsibility of roles in this career stream is managing people. which includes: accountability for mentoring developing and coaching staff on meeting/exceeding performance expectations and defined objectives providing leadership to staff ensuring the prioritization of strategic and department level initiatives to include defining performance goals and targets conducting performance reviews and staff 1:1s to guide performance management and employee development efforts and manage toward departmental goals.

Leadership and Talent Management:Manages a team consisting of supervisors and / or experienced professionals in the Specialist career stream.
Leads directs and reviews the work of a team who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments.
Authorizes hiring firing promotion and reward within own area.

Required Knowledge and Experience:Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes projects and tactics within one job area.
Typically has advanced knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization.

Must Have:
Bachelors degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience or Advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years prior relevant experience.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$110400.00 - $165600.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
