Director of Surgical and Cardiovascular Services Full Time Days

Reports To: Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Athena Medtech is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Surgical and Cardiovascular Services to lead and support our high-performing surgical and cardiovascular care teams. This leadership role is accountable for the planning coordination implementation and evaluation of nursing practice and patient care delivery across designated units. The Director serves as a vital member of the leadership team and assumes 24/7 operational responsibility for the assigned service lines.
This role will focus on ensuring the delivery of safe high-quality and efficient care while driving service line growth optimizing resources and fostering a culture of clinical excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic leadership and operational oversight for cardiovascular and surgical services
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards hospital policies and clinical best practices
Drive patient safety quality outcomes and patient satisfaction across assigned units
Lead and mentor nursing and support staff to maintain high levels of competence and engagement
Collaborate with physicians department heads and senior leadership to meet organizational goals
Monitor and manage budgets productivity and resource utilization
Support continuous improvement initiatives service line growth and care innovation
Licensure & Certifications:
Active and unrestricted RN license in the state of residence/practice
BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
Education:
Required: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with a bachelors degree in nursing or a healthcare-related field (BSN or equivalent)
Preferred: Masters degree in Nursing (MSN) or a masters in healthcare administration or related field
Experience:
Required: Minimum of 2 years of progressive leadership experience in an acute care hospital setting with prior management responsibility in surgical and/or cardiovascular services
Demonstrated success in clinical operations staff development and cross-functional leadership
Skills:
Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
Strong business acumen with the ability to manage budgets and support service line growth
Ability to lead with integrity serve as a role model and champion nursing excellence
