We are seeking a proactive and experienced Production Manager to lead and oversee the Production Department at our Norfolk facility. This leadership role is responsible for managing production staffing driving performance improvements maintaining safety and compliance and serving as the acting Facility Manager when needed. The Production Manager will work cross-functionally with multiple departments to ensure operational success.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage staffing and scheduling for both hourly and salaried production team members to meet production demand
Act as Facility Manager in their absence and maintain operational oversight
Serve as a communication link between production teams and upper management
Prioritize delegate and schedule daily work assignments for efficiency
Drive continuous improvement of production processes and performance
Ensure compliance with safety health food safety housekeeping and regulatory standards
Lead by example to promote a safe clean and efficient work environment
Support and participate in food safety audits and reporting requirements
Coordinate with procurement and materials departments to ensure availability of raw materials
Contribute to strategic decisions on production capabilities and workforce optimization
Bachelors degree in Business Engineering Operations or related field preferred
Minimum of 3 years of management or supervisory experience in a production/manufacturing environment
Proven ability to lead teams solve problems and implement process improvements
Strong organizational and planning skills with attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of an organization
Experience in food or beverage manufacturing is a plus
Full-time
