Job Summary:
This role is for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a long-term care facility. The CNA will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse assisting with activities of daily living collecting patient data and performing basic medical procedures. Prior travel and long-term care experience are required.
Location: Seward Alaska United States
Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing dressing toileting and ambulation.
- Collect patient data such as vital signs weight and intake/output.
- Obtain and process specimens (urine stool sputum).
- Assist with feeding and meal delivery.
- Perform basic medical procedures as directed by a registered nurse (e.g. incentive spirometry pulse oximetry blood sugar checks).
- Maintain and clean equipment.
- Document patient care accurately.
- Communicate patient status changes to the nursing staff.
- Perform clerical duties as needed.
- Float within scope to meet facility needs.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license (or ability to obtain an Alaska CNA license within 72 hours of signing).
- At least one year of experience in long-term care.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Prior travel experience.
- Valid drivers license and auto insurance (or ability to utilize facility-provided transportation).

Special Considerations:
- This is a travel assignment requiring previous travel experience.
- Shifts are 4x12 or 3x12 hour shifts either days or nights depending on facility needs. No night/day rotation is expected except in urgent situations.
- The CNA may be asked to float to different areas of the facility as needed.
- On-call is not required.
- A facility vehicle may be provided subject to conditions outlined in the job description.
- The candidates permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility.
- Pending licenses are accepted but the application must be submitted within 72 hours of signing.
Scheduling:
- 4x12 or 3x12 hour variable shifts (travelers choice).
- Shifts are either days or nights determined by facility needs at the start date.
- Guaranteed 84 hours per two weeks (with possibility of one 12-hour shift cancellation per two weeks).
- Time off is approved on an individual basis.
