The Regional Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist will lead and support the implementation of EHS programs policies and best practices across multiple Client manufacturing sites. This role will be instrumental in fostering a strong safety culture ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and driving continuous improvement across operations.
Reporting to the Director of EHS and Security the Regional EHS Specialist will act as a strategic partner to site leaders and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure EHS compliance education and risk reduction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESChampion a strong safety culture and drive EHS engagement across all regional sites
Monitor assess and maintain compliance with all applicable OSHA EPA DOT and other local/state/federal safety and environmental regulations
Lead support and audit EHS compliance efforts including OSHA 300 log Tier II hazardous waste stormwater and wastewater reporting
Develop and maintain EHS incident tracking lessons learned and corrective action implementation programs
Assist with effective root cause analysis and incident investigations driving proactive prevention strategies
Support the development and delivery of EHS training and awareness programs for all employees
Maintain documentation and ensure legal compliance across all EHS processes and reporting systems
Partner with engineering and leadership teams to evaluate new equipment facilities and processes to ensure safety and ergonomic compliance
Stay informed on evolving environmental health and safety legislation and provide recommendations accordingly
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders during audits inspections and regulatory agency interactions
Travel up to 50% (or more depending on location) to support site EHS needs and ensure regional consistency in program execution
Available to work off-shifts as needed to support site operations
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Environmental Science Engineering Occupational Health & Safety or a related field
Minimum of 3 5 years of hands-on EHS experience supporting multiple manufacturing or industrial sites
In-depth understanding of OSHA EPA DOT regulations and environmental permitting/reporting
Proven experience developing and delivering EHS training programs and conducting incident investigations
Ability to interpret and apply federal state and local EHS regulations and standards across jurisdictions
Strong communication organizational and interpersonal skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint)
Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced setting
Preferred Qualifications:
Safety certification(s) such as CSP ASP CHMM
Experience working in food or beverage manufacturing environments
Familiarity with industrial ergonomics and risk assessment techniques
