Description:
Major Purpose:
Plans coordinates and performs manufacturing engineering work for a project or process.
Operates in a team environment within either the enterprise product delivery process or the enterprise order fullment process.
At this level projects are of limited scope and responsibility work plans and decisions are made within established guidelines and may be reviewed by supervisors and/or managers.
May assign coordinate and review portions of the work for support personnel and contractors.
Major Duties:
- Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the analysis of information and the specification of the methods and process steps as well as the plant machinery and equipment required to design and continuously improve manufacturing or materials processes and process systems.
- Contribute to the development of and implement feasibility testing of proposed engineering solutions to provide feedback and data to validate the design.
- Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the drafting of engineering standards and specifications and the evaluation of the effectiveness of those standards.
- Carry out inspections under the supervision of senior colleagues to evaluate the quality of engineering works and/or the integrity of existing installations or structures and make recommendations to senior colleagues on the remedial works needed to ensure conformance with specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Deliver required outcomes by coordinating activities of subcontractors and suppliers and acting as a primary point of contact for them while working within an established contract management plan.
- Identify shortcomings in existing processes systems and procedures and use established change management programs to address them.
- Help others get the most out of knowledge management systems by offering support and advice.
- Carry out a range of product development and engineering activities.
- Use established systems to analyze customer needs and define and deliver products.
- Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.
- Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching gain or maintain external professional accreditation where relevant to improve performance and fulfill personal potential.

Education:
Bachelors Degree or Equivalent Level
Responsibilities:
- As a Material Replenishment Specialist at John Deere Dubuque Works located in Dubuque Iowa you will develop and maintain the replenishment strategies for material at the product line and factory levels. This includes working within the SAP ERP system to systematically setup and maintain the process to deliver parts to the production line on time and in the correct packaging. You will work closely with manufacturing and material flow resources to identify and resolve material availability issues. In addition you will:
- Develop and execute material flow strategies to ensure material availability and to meet unit goals
- Perform tactical updates within SAP system as needed
- Demonstrate ownership of production line(s) material flow strategy and execution
- Act as material flow representative in large scale factory projects such as PDP changes line rate changes etc.
- Point of contact for all material flow questions and issues within assigned production line(s)
- Plan and coordinate material flow process changes within assigned production line(s) or factory wid
Required Qualifications:
- One or more years experience in manufacturing and/or operations
- Cross functional work exp in multiple areas i.e. accounting product engineering quality manufacturing operations warehousing/distribution production employee supervision supply management marketing HR industrial engineering etc
- Technical aptitude to learn new systems and processes (such as SAP IM/WM Production Planning Materials Management)
- Ability to analyze data and determine root cause
- Communicate cross functionally and influence without authority
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications
- This section should include the preferred qualifications including education and certification preferences.
- Understanding of Deere Production System Lean Manufacturing Just-in- Time Kanban Demand Flow Technology. - Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.
- Experience with SAP Warehouse processes and transactions - 1 - 3 years
- Demonstrated ability to develop and improve internal processes
- Experience leading process changes on the unit level or equivalent project management experience
- Experience with Data Management tools such as Tableau and/or Power BI.
- Bachelors degree in a Business/Management Engineering/Technology Supply Management or Accounting/Finance discipline or equivalent experience
