Job Description

This is a remote position.

Zero Energy Australia is seeking a detail oriented Compliance Officer to ensure all HVAC installation projects meet regulatory safety and rebate program requirements. You will partner with Operations Sales and Quality teams to embed best practice processes maintain documentation and drive continuous improvement across our ducted multi split and single split installations.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Oversight:

    • Interpret and apply Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) guidelines Building Code of Australia (BCA) and relevant Australian Standards (AS/NZS 3823 AS/NZS 3000).

    • Monitor changes in legislation and rebate program rules; update internal procedures accordingly.

  • Process Development & Auditing:

    • Develop and maintain job sheet templates (pre start and post completion) in Zoho FSM to capture all compliance data.

    • Conduct regular audits of completed job records site photos and technician checklists to verify adherence.

  • Training & Support:

    • Train installers and office staff on compliance requirements safe work procedures and documentation standards.

    • Provide on going support for field teams to resolve compliance queries and escalations.

  • Rebate Submission Management:

    • Coordinate collection of required customer/property data for VEU claims.

    • Validate and submit rebate applications; liaise with program administrators to address queries.

  • Incident & Non Conformance Handling:

    • Investigate any safety incidents non conformances or audit failures; document findings and corrective actions.

    • Report major issues to senior management and oversee closure of action plans.

  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Analyse compliance metrics (audit pass rates rebate turnaround safety incidents) and recommend process enhancements.

    • Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) checklists and training materials on a quarterly basis.



Key Responsibilities : Essential Requirements Tertiary qualification in Compliance, Engineering, Risk Management or related field. Minimum 2 years experience in HVAC, building services or energy efficiency compliance roles. Strong understanding of VEU rebate processes, OHS legislation and Australian Standards relevant to HVAC. Proficiency with Zoho FSM (or similar field service management systems) and Zoho CRM/Docs. Excellent attention to detail, organisation skills and ability to manage concurrent audits. Effective communicator with ability to train field teams and articulate technical requirements.
