Solid knowledge of football terminology positions and game analysis needs.
Experience using Catapult and Pro Football Focus (PFF) software.

Job Description:

Do you have a passion for and strong knowledge of the game of football while being skilled at filming and editing live games and creating on demand videos for clients If so Iowa State Athletics is seeking candidates for a media production specialist I. This position has strategic importance by contributing to the video operations of a multimillion dollar football program and marketing of student-athletes in their career.


Examples of what youll do

  • Shoot high-definition video and edit all practices and games using a variety of non-linear software.
  • Consult with coaches to determine production needs and areas of emphasis for the day to ensure proper locations and camera angles to capture the data they are needing to assess.
  • Collaborate with coaches and student-athletes on their needs then create videos used for opponent and self-scout analysis player development game preparation clinic and training videos marketing of student-athletes for NIL and NFL opportunities social media clips and recruitment.
  • Research and pull video content from social media platforms to import into recruiting system for study.
  • Serve as a technology expert and train coaches staff and athletes on video platforms and troubleshoot problems.
  • Assist in setup of digital playbooks and hardware and software upgrades.
  • Help train and direct student videographers.
  • Adhere to University Conference and NCAA policies procedures and regulations.

The ideal candidates will have strong verbal communication skills ability to collaborate and manage projects and experienced in sports editing film using a variety of complex software platforms. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse student body. This position requires the ability to work evening and weekend hours and travel out of state for competitions.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.

As an NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision athletics program and a founding member of the Big 12 Conference Iowa State University sponsors 18 intercollegiate athletics teams and supports 450 student-athletes in their pursuit of academic and athletic excellence.
