TITLE:Print Production and Systems Operator
HIRING SPECIFICATIONS:
Required:
1. Valid Drivers License
2. High School Diploma HiSet or GED

BASIC FUNCTION:Oversee and execute print related projects and systems set-up integration and training. The essential functions as shown below represent only the key areas of responsibility; specific position requirements will vary depending on the needs of the printing services department. This position requires continuous use of independent judgment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Oversee and support the implementation of new software integrations with existing RIPs on printing machines including conducting training sessions.
2. Implement and support in the administration and use of all digital storefront platforms and/or Des Moines Public Schools related systems.
3. Pursue active involvement in research and development and use of new variable data programming and postal software including any other new program development and training.
4. Oversee and follow through with various projects (long-term and on-going project management).
5. Pre-flight job orders (file set-up customer communication when needed design work etc.)
6. Assist in pricing and billing; create and send invoices when needed.
7. Assist in setup and management of ticketing platform supporting device transfers district wide.
8. Assist in technology related needs coordinate with IT team and schedule IT huddles when needed.
9. Plan and implement graphic designs and layout.
10. Perform all customer service jobs.
11. Print/set-up confidential materials.
12. Assist in annual inventory.
13. Assist with delivery of print jobs as needed.
14. Operate black/white and color printers.
15. Assist in all bindery operations as assigned.
16. Clean and adjust all equipment.
17. Order supplies.
18. Print various stock and cut to size.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Constant standing walking and computer time. Frequent sitting bending/stooping reaching/pushing/pulling lifting (50 lbs) driving carrying (50 feet) and telephone and computer. Occasional climbing stairs.
WORKING CONDITIONS:Mostly indoors with some outdoor responsibilities.
