Job Summary:The Research Systems and Reporting Director provides strategic leadership in the implementation integration and long-term sustainment of enterprise electronic research administration (eRA) systems. Ensures research systems support the universitys research strategy compliance responsibilities and operational needs. Provides ongoing oversight and integration of current internal research administration systems and the effective use of external sponsor systems. Serves as a connector across administrative units academic departments IT and external partners to modernize and support research infrastructure.
Additional Department Summary:Leads the strategic implementation integration and optimization of electronic research administration (eRA) systems across the institution. Oversees the full lifecycle of system deployment from stakeholder engagement and requirements gathering to vendor coordination testing and training while ensuring continuity of legacy platforms and seamless integration with sponsor systems. Manages ongoing system enhancements data governance frameworks and institutional reporting efforts supporting compliance and data-informed decision-making.
Serves as a key liaison between research administrators IT teams and faculty stakeholders translating operational needs into technical solutions and fostering user adoption through training and support. Applies formal project and change management practices leads a high-performing team and drives continuous improvement aligned with institutional research priorities.
Required Minimum Qualifications:Masters degree and six (6) years of experience in research administration systems or enterprise system implementation in a higher education or research-intensive environment; OR bachelors degree and eight (8) years of experience in research administration systems or enterprise system implementation in a higher education or research-intensive environment.

Skills and Knowledge:Demonstrated leadership of major system implementations and post-launch operations. Strong understanding of the research lifecycle federal compliance regulations and sponsored project administration. Proven experience managing cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholder groups. Strong problem-solving skills including the ability to diagnose and solve complex issues. Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with peers customers and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:Masters degree and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Advanced proficiency with major eRA platforms. Familiarity with cloud ERP systems effort reporting systems and research system integrations. Prior supervisory experience and vendor management expertise.
