You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailUnder the supervision of the Director of the Career Development Center and lead by the Assistant Director of Employer Engagement the Employer Recruitment and Program Coordinator will act in a lead role in coordinating planning and executing a variety of activities and events that engage students with the employment community. Build partnerships between the university and external communities (business the public sector and not-for-profit entities) emphasizing development and marketing to expand part-time career and internship employment opportunities for students. In consultation with employers manage and expand recruitment job listings and events available to students in CareerLINK. Provide advising and coaching to students and alumni in all aspects of career exploration decision-making and job search.
Furthermore this position is responsible for providing services that are equitable inclusive and provide culturally sensitive services that enhance the quality of campus life retention and graduation rate. This position uses a student centered and equity minded approach in all communication and service efforts.

Knowledge of current employment trends and salary structures; student development and counseling theories; and career decision-making and job search processes. Current knowledge of employment and career planning materials; knowledge of alternative approaches to career development and planning needs for individuals with special needs. Knowledge of uses of Career Services Management Systems. Knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel Access and PowerPoint on a PC Computer. Ability to work weekends and a flexible work time as needed and determined by operational needs. Ability to lift move and transport equipment/materials (25 lbs.) within event/program locations and offices throughout Campus. Working knowledge of standard safe work practices. Ability to consistently report to work on time prepared to perform the duties of the position. Strong critical thinking skills; must be able to analyze a problem or opportunity and identify appropriate strategies.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies procedures and guidelines including but not limited to safety civility information security and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Equivalent to a bachelors degree with upper or graduate coursework in counseling and guidance human relations or related fields and three years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas required.
Minimum of three years of experience in developing and facilitating workshops; making presentations; and exhibiting excellent oral and written communication skills preferred.
Medium work - Job involves lifting heavy-weight objects (20-40 pounds) and/or 20% - 40% of the job involves standing squatting kneeling or walking. May require pushing or pulling objects within the weight limits.
Valid CA Driver License preferred.

Salary placement is determined by the education experience and qualifications the candidate brings to the position internal equity and the hiring departments fiscal resources.
Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $5540 - $6717 per month commensurate with candidates education experience skills and training.
CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $5540 - $7893 per month.
Excellent benefits through CalPERS (health vision dental) tuition fee waiver generous vacation and sick leave and 14 paid holidays each year.
1.0 time-base 40 hours per week.
This is a temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
