The primary role of the Indigenous Liaison Officer is to facilitate effective communication and collaboration between diocesan schools Catholic Education Services and local First Nations peoples communities and agencies. The aim is to enhance engagement and improve educational outcomes for First Nations students.
As the Indigenous Liaison Officer your responsibilities will include:
Establishing and strengthening relationships with First Nations communities and school communities.
Identifying eligible First Nations students and supporting them with Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Foundation (QATSIF) scholarship applications.
Under the guidance of teaching staff assisting with the planning implementation and supervision of developmentally appropriate learning experiences for First Nations studentseither individually or in small groups.
Supporting First Nations parents and carers through regular communication with Catholic Education and schools including assistance with parent-teacher interviews and home visits to strengthen the connection between home and school.
