Job Description: 24x7 IT Tech Support Operations

What does a successful IT Tech Support Operator do

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled individual to join our team as a 24x7 IT Tech Operator. In this role you will be responsible for providing efficient and effective technical support to our organizations employees and clients. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in IT troubleshooting excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

What you will do

  • Provide first-level technical support via phone email and chat to end-users experiencing hardware software and network-related issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical problems including desktop/laptop issues software installations network connectivity and printing problems.
  • Utilize remote access tools to troubleshoot and resolve issues on user devices.
  • Document all support incidents interactions and solutions in the helpdesk ticketing system.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to higher-level IT support teams and collaborate closely with them to ensure timely resolution.
  • Assist with password resets account unlock requests and access management.
  • Ensure proper recording tracking and closure of all issues adhering to defined service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Provide clear and concise communication to end-users ensuring they understand the steps being taken to resolve their issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest IT trends technologies and best practices to enhance technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.

What you will need to have

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications or coursework are a plus.
  • Proven experience in a technical support role preferably in a helpdesk environment.
  • Strong understanding of Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite email clients and common business software applications.
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP DNS DHCP).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think logically and critically.
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical users.
  • Customer-centric attitude with a strong sense of empathy and patience.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Flexibility to work in a 24x7 rotating shift schedule including nights weekends and holidays.
