The role
In this role youll be hands-on with designing and maintaining the networking and security infrastructure that protects the departments digital environment. Youll work closely with architects and stakeholders to implement secure-by-design technologies manage Routers IDS/IPSs NLBs Encryption Technologies and SIEM and help other teams with audits and vulnerability remediation. Your insights will help shape security strategies and ensure systems are compliant and resilient.
Youll be navigating a complex ICT landscape identifying risks and responding to emerging threats across a wide network of sites. Staying ahead of the curve in Networking and cybersecurity trends and technologies is key as is your ability to collaborate across teams and deliver practical scalable solutions that keep the departments systems safe and secure.

What you will bring to the role
- Proven experience in designing implementing and maintaining ICT Network and security infrastructure in complex environments.
- Strong understanding of tools like Switching Routing IPS/IDS SASE SIEM and vulnerability management systems.
- Ability to apply Secure by Design principles and maintain detailed documentation and playbooks.
- Skills in evaluating new technologies and ensuring compliance with security standards.
- Capacity to manage and configure security tools and proactively address vulnerabilities.
- Experience providing security consulting and acting as a subject matter expert across programs and projects.
- Ability to stay current with emerging threats and technologies in the cybersecurity landscape.
- Strong collaboration skills to work with internal teams external stakeholders and vendors.
What is an essential requirement:
- Tertiary qualifications in computer science information and technology or a related technical field and/or relevant experience and industry certifications.
- Availability to work after hours on weekends and be on call as required.
