We are seeking an experienced and driven IT Field Technician to support critical IT infrastructure across multiple field sites in the West Texas/New Mexico region. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary IT point of contact for on-site personnel and critical infrastructure. Coordinates support escalations with internal teams and external vendors as needed. Collaborates with IT teams SCADA engineers and operational leadership to implement solutions that support safe secure and reliable operation of critical infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Act as the primary on-site IT representative for remote field locations delivering prompt support for escalated issues and serving as the main point of contact for critical infrastructure and operations technology.
Travel to various field sites (40-50%) to support hardware delivery installation troubleshooting and documentation of IT and SCADA-related systems.
Work closely with SCADA engineers networking platform and help desk teams to coordinate system resolutions and maintain infrastructure standards.
Act as a liaison between field operations and IT leadership ensuring effective communication timely issue resolution and accurate status updates.
Maintain and update detailed documentation for existing and new IT infrastructure hardware configurations and system changes.
Coordinate activities related to IT infrastructure in the field.
Ensure compliance with IT standards and critical infrastructure security protocols.
Assist in the planning and implementation of site IT upgrades and new deployments.
Perform racking stacking and cabling of network switches and IT hardware in server rooms and network closets.
Possess an understanding of network protocols and methodologies including TCP/IP VLANs DHCP DNS and routing concepts.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Windows workstations Office 365 Collaboration technology and network connectivity issues on the business network.
Proven experience supporting critical infrastructure and working independently in remote locations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across teams and with non-technical users.
Proficiency with IT documentation and change management practices.
Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all devices ensuring accurate records of equipment.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field; technical degree or equivalent professional experience considered.
35 years of hands-on experience in IT field support preferably in SCADA energy or industrial environments.
Valid drivers license and ability to travel regularly to field locations.
Experience with SCADA systems or OT (Operational Technology) environments a plus.
Troubleshoot and maintain network switches routers and wireless access points; CLI (Command Line Interface) experience is a plus.
