Job Description

LifeWorksofAustin TX is looking for a full time Treatment Directorto join our Emergency Shelter team! The Treatment Director is responsible for leading and overseeing the service and safety planning of clients in the emergency shelter and directly supervising case management. This role has responsibility for developing managing and evaluating service goals coordinating psychological and counseling services and facilitating medication management referrals. The Treatment Director monitors program outcomes to ensure compliance with all relevant standards. Additionally they collaborate with staff clients and community partners to identify new program strategies develop and enhance shelter policies and procedures and respond to community trends and needs.

The Treatment Director provides clinical consultation and oversight training and technical support to direct care staff focusing on child-centered trauma-informed caregiving practices. This role ensures that caregiving approaches are tailored to meet each childs unique needs and promotes effective compassionate engagement strategies.

This full time exempt position earns a competitive starting rate of $88827.7-$97069.74 annually depending upon experience. Benefits are also included which consist of 24 PTO days per year (accrued); 11 paid holidays per year; a premium-free employee medical plan with $100 per month HSA contribution (plus other affordable employee or family medical dental and vision options!); a retirement savings plan with 50% match on the first 6% of contributions and much more!

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads the operations and strategies for all youth service planning with a focus on implementing a strengths-based and data-informed service delivery environment. Responsible for the design development and implementation of all psychological mental health substance use and counseling services as well as associated initiatives.
  • Responsible for the compilation analysis and reporting of program outcomes to program funders and other stakeholders. Ensure that funder reports and other deliverables are completed and submitted accurately within the designated timeframes to meet contractual regulations and deadlines.
  • Oversees program use of and compliance with evidence-based models and/or program curricula to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Responsible for evaluating assessing and providing directions to the emergency shelters case management staff to ensure service packages and planning are customized according to the youths plans.
  • Continuously identifies and implements emerging and established best practices in partnership with the Research & Evaluation team to ensure continual quality improvement and high impact outcomes.
  • Enforces and complies with all requirements outlined by funding sources licensure and accrediting bodies the program and the agency including requirements pertaining to data paperwork training processes and procedures among other things.
  • Responsible for the training supervision and evaluation of shelter case managers in accordance with Agency policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining program training materials for case managers in accordance with LifeWorks policies and procedures. Delivers training to staff on an ongoing and as-needed basis to ensure excellence in service delivery.
  • Provides guidance and support to direct reports managing complex crisis situations involving high-acuity clients with histories of chronic trauma and neglect homelessness and/or systems involvement as applicable.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of individualized safety plans that are responsive to each youths mental health diagnosis behavioral patterns and risk factors.
  • Ensures the integration of program services with other agency services to support clients in a holistic manner.
  • Participates in community committees working groups and initiatives and provides community training presentations and outreach activities as appropriate.
  • Prepares for and actively participates in supervision meetings and all other required meetings or training courses.
  • Responsible for providing consultation training and technical assistance to direct caregivers and case management staff surrounding mental health related concerns.
  • Responsible for service planning productivity and outcomes for a 24-hour residential facility.
  • Oversees case management services to ensure compliance for all clients in the residential programs are met. Also serves as the 24-hour back-up to on-call staff.
  • Works closely with Department of Family Protective Services contracts and Health and Human Services licensing to ensure compliance and standards are met for the facility and continued oversight of the youth staying in the residential program.
  • Provides coordination with local neighborhood and community health entities as needed such as the Austin Police Department Emergency Medical Services and the Neighborhood Association.
  • Reviews daily shift notes incident reports and service planning and follows up as required.
  • Provides temporary coverage and direct client services during staffing transitions or outages.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Be a licensed Psychologist or Psychiatrist; or
  • Possess a Masters degree in human services field from an accredited college or university and three years of experience providing treatment services to children with emotional disorders including one year in a residential setting; or
  • Licensed master social worker a licensed clinical social worker a licensed professional counselor or a licensed marriage and family therapist and have three years of experience providing treatment services for children with emotional disorder including one year in a residential setting.
  • Preferred minimum (2) years of management experience including supervising and leading teams.
  • Preferred experience providing case management services or treatment coordination for youth and young adults.
  • Training in trauma-informed practice/ trauma-informed care preferred.
  • Experience with databases; proficient level experience with Microsoft Office including Word Excel and Outlook.
