The Math Interventionist Assistant will support students in the Math classroom under the direction of the assigned Math Teacher. The Math Interventionist Assistant will work towards addressing skill gaps and barriers to learning by fostering a supportive and encouraging learning environment. They will be responsible for modifying lesson plans assignments and assessments using data to track student progress and communicating with parents regarding progress. Additionally the Math Intervention Assistant is committed to Atlantis Charter School Board of Trustees policies regarding equity human rights and cross cultural understanding and reports to the Principal the school or their designee.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 48 college credits or passing score on the ParaPro Assessment required.
- Ability to successfully manage classroom behaviors preferred.
- Strong math content knowledge.
- Experience working with children preferred.
- Strong communication skills both written and spoken.
- Ability to relate well to others

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
While actual roles and responsibilities will vary depending on individual circumstances the Math Intervention Assistant will generally be required to perform some or all of the following tasks. Note that this list is not all-inclusive and that the administrator may also assign other tasks they deem appropriate.
- Uses data to form small groups of students both in and out of the classroom setting to address skill gaps
- Collaborates closely with the grade level Math Teacher to differentiate instruction to engage various learning styles.
- Collaborates closely with the grade level Math Teacher to modify lesson plans assignments and assessments to meet the needs and skill levels of struggling learners.
- Creates and implements hands-on learning opportunities for students to deepen understanding of grade level priority standards.
- Regularly tracks student progress using assessments and observations and maintains detailed records of student performance adjusting interventions accordingly.
- Works with individual students and/or small groups of students as needed.
- Establishes effective classroom routines and structures and addresses off task behavior when needed.
- Sets appropriate expectations for students during class and expects students to complete all assigned tasks and projects.
- Implements strategies to build students mathematical thinking problem solving skills and self-confidence while fostering a supporting and encouraging learning environment and addresses barriers to learning.
- Fosters positive and respectful relationships within the classroom.
- Maintains weekly input of grades in appropriate database.
- Communicates with families on student progress as needed.
- Ensures technology is used appropriately by students.
- Works with grade level team to identify and execute incentives for students as needed.

EVALUATION
An annual performance evaluation of the Math Interventionist Assistant will be conducted by the Principal or their designee. The Principal or their designee will incorporate feedback from the supervising teacher(s) on the performance of the Math Interventionist Assistant into the evaluation as appropriate.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
At will employment stipend position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to walk sit and stand for long periods. Regularly uses computer keyboard requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.
