Summary:
An ocean transportation company is looking to hire an Account Executive to work out of their office in Kennesaw GA. This is a full-time permanent position that comes with day 1 benefits.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct regular customer visits to develop and maintain strong business relationships and secure new opportunities.
* Grow and manage a portfolio of accounts with a focus on promoting all the companys freight services.
* Develop and follow a structured contact plan organizing your outreach geographically and meeting the activity goals set by sales management.
* Generate and respond to sales leads for both existing and prospective customers in your assigned territory within timeframes established by leadership.
* Collaborate with internal teams (including pricing and operations) to support customer needs resolve issues and maximize account performance.
* Track and update customer information (account profiles contacts sales hierarchy etc.) in accordance with company standards and procedures.
* Monitor and manage service contracts within your portfolio including timely renewals and compliance with contractual terms.
* Stay informed on tariff updates regulations and pricing changes and maintain active communication with the Pricing team.
* Utilize sales tools and systems (such as the Stars Tariff Retrieval System Sales & Marketing reports and Trade Databases) in your daily activities.
* Maintain accurate records of all business travel customer entertainment and related expenses in compliance with company policies.
* Represent the company professionally at department meetings customer visits industry events and trade shows.
* Work closely with regional and international offices to support new business development and address customer concerns.
* Communicate regularly with sales leadership providing updates on your territory and supporting team goals as needed.
Requirements:
* 3 years of outside sales experience in ocean transportation or a combination of outside sales with inside sales and/or customer service in the industry.
* Ability to communicate fluently in English at an advanced level.
* Intermediate Computer skills (in programs such as MS Word Excel & Outlook).
* Valid drivers license
* Able to operate personal vehicle for travel (car allowance and fuel card provided)
* Flexibility to work extended hours holidays and/or weekends.
* Flexibility to attend Conferences Trade Shows visit specific customers as may be required.
* Ability to travel domestically frequently/daily and overseas as deemed necessary by sales management.
