What Youll Do
The Director Precision Defense will be responsible for leading the development of NodeZero Precision Defense from concept to launch driving the creation of autonomous defense capabilities that close the loop between offensive insights and defensive improvements. This role requires building and managing multiple specialized engineering teams across identity data endpoint and threat detection domains while delivering on our aggressive launch timeline.
Precision Defense Engineering Leadership: Lead the development of Precision Defense modules from the ground up transforming NodeZeros offensive insights into autonomous defensive capabilities across identity security data protection endpoint hardening and threat detection & response.
Multi-Domain Product Development: Partner closely with Product and GTM teams to build POCs and develop MVPs across a variety of precision defense technical domains.
Rapid Scale Execution: Drive the hiring and management of multiple teams of specialized engineers and technical leads (identity platform engineers data protection engineers detection engineers security automation engineers) while maintaining aggressive delivery timelines.
Cross-Functional Team Building: Build and lead specialized engineering pods including fullstack engineers defense domain experts attack engineers and detection/telemetry engineers fostering deep collaboration between offensive and defensive capabilities.
This role is critical to establishing as the leader in autonomous security platforms and realizing our vision of continuous autonomous and proactive defense capabilities.
What Youll Bring
Proven experience in leading engineering teams with a strong track record of building and launching new products in a fast-paced startup environment.
Highly technical background with expertise in software development cybersecurity and B2B SaaS multi-product platforms.
Demonstrated ability to take products from concept to market including the development of POCs MVPs and GTM strategies.
Ability to manage concurrent initiatives and use effective judgment in prioritization and time management.
Creative self-motivated highly energetic detail and results-oriented.
Experience collaborating with designers developers and product managers.
Excellent analytical/problem-solving ability.
A positive attitude and a desire to build accessible products for all users.
Ability to understand the product its logs and troubleshoot errors.
Strong technical documentation and communication.
Strong ability to identify procedural gaps implement engineering best practicies and streamline and empower the team to build the best new products at a high velocity.
Required Tech Stack Experience
Subject matter expert on platform design and flow
Knowledge or awareness of the following: Multiple Operating systems (Kali Ubuntu Windows)
Understanding of cloud infrastructure and their related services such as AWS Azure GCP
Databases such as Neo4j and Postgresql
Bash ruby Python and LUA scripting languages
Cyber security related certifications/designations (or equivalent experience) such as:
Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
GIAC Penetration Tester (GPEN)
Offensive Security Expert Penetration Tester (OSEP)
Bachelors and/or masters degree in computer science engineering or related field and significant relevant industry experience.
Extensive architectural management experience.
Exposure and/or experience with cyber security industry standards and trends.
Travel Required
We are a fully remote company and this job may require up to 5% of travel to be successful.

In accordance with various States transparency regulations we provide the following salary range information for this position:
Base salary range: $242000 - $285000 annually. The exact salary will be determined based on the selected candidates location qualifications experience and relevant skills.
Additional compensation: This role may also be eligible for an equity package (in the form of stock options). If any other compensation benefits apply they will be discussed during the interview process.
