Job Description

The Coordinator of Retention & Student Success will coordinate the development implementation and assessment of university retention initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Student Support & Retention this position will leverage early alert and student success software to monitor student performance connect students to services and to personalize intervention and communication efforts ensuring students attain their academic and career goals in a timely manner. This position is responsible for communicating and coordinating efforts to improve student retention and graduation rates across campus assisting faculty and staff in identifying trends in student performance and promoting best practices to facilitate effective interventions.

Salary: The expected salary for this position is $43799.00 annually.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage early alert systems and liaison with student support services to prompt interventions.
  • Coordinate intervention and retention efforts between enrollment services student affairs and academic affairs units.
  • Collect and assess student retention data and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions on student outcomes.
  • Identify and address barriers to retention and completion and disseminate recommendations to relevant stakeholders to address those barriers.
  • Promote adoption of early alert systems and foster faculty and staff investment through training and workshops.
  • Regularly communicate with faculty staff and academic units regarding retention efforts and student success outcomes.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two (2) years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of word processing spreadsheet and database applications.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in related field.
  • Two or more years of demonstrated experience using early alert technology (EAB Navigate Starfish Civitas Learner ConexED etc.).
  • Experience using CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems for marketing or outreach.
  • Familiarity with coordinating student retention and progression efforts.
  • Experience working in or with student services.
  • Experience in assessment including developing and synthesizing student data and reports.
  • Experience with public speaking and leading group presentations.
  • Prior supervisory experience.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to travel and work beyond normal office hours.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
