We are looking for a Sr. Data Analyst / Lead Data Analyst to join our team. This senior role is essential to driving data-driven decision-making across our organization. Youll partner closely with leaders from Underwriting Claims Legal and Loss Control to identify trends uncover opportunities and guide business strategy using data. From designing analytical models to leading implementation efforts with our BI team youll play a key role in shaping the way we understand and act on performance metrics.
KEY JOB OBJECTIVES
- Surface insights from multiple data sources to support complex operational decision-making.
- Deliver analytics initiatives and interpret findings to drive actionable recommendations in pricing claims and risk management.
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and data models to support business reporting needs.
- Partner with business leaders and developers to define reporting requirements and execute implementations in Looker.
- Collaborate with actuarial underwriting and finance teams to analyze KPIs and portfolio performance.
- Lead cross-functional efforts to ensure scalable high-integrity analytics pipelines and reporting systems.
- Provide strategic thought leadership in predictive analytics modeling and data transformation.
EDUCATION TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors or masters degree in economics Finance Statistics Mathematics Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in advanced analytics or data science roles.
- Proven track record in developing data-driven strategies and presenting actionable insights to stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables Power Query macros VBA).
- Strong proficiency in Transact-SQL for managing and optimizing large datasets.
- Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Looker Power BI Tableau or Qlik.
- Experience in SSRS and RDL for data visualization and reporting.
- Exceptional communication and presentation abilities-able to translate data for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Preferred: Experience using Looker BI and LookML.
- Preferred: Knowledge of actuarial practices including loss development exposure analysis and premium adequacy.
- Preferred: Background in Commercial Property & Casualty insurance industry.
