Job Description

Full-time (12 month) position with benefits.

  • Work hours will be from 7:45am-4:30pm (with a built-in break) on Elementary School academic days when the after school program is open and during the summer when camp is in session. Employee will also work on faculty pre-planning post-planning and in-service days.
  • Employee will be granted time off for the week of July 4th when summer camp is not in session.

ABOUT FPD

First Presbyterian Day School (FPD) is a 3K-12th grade Christ centered college preparatory independent school located in Macon Georgia which exists to educate and equip children to change the world for Gods glory.


ABOUT THE ROLE

Oversee the Preschool Building to provide a welcoming environment where parents and children are greeted warmly and students are excited to be at school each day. Assist with administrative tasks for FPDs Center for Discovery and the after-school enrichment programs as well as summer programs.


Essential Responsibilities and Duties:


Preschool Receptionist

  • Greet students each morning and help with morning midday and afternoon carpool.
  • Be a positive and welcoming presence for preschool parents students and staff.
  • Order snacks for the preschool and after-school programs.
  • Help teachers with small tasks and step into classrooms when needed.
  • Help walk children to chapel.
  • Greet parents throughout the morning if dropping off or picking up; be a stop for parents before they go to the classrooms.
  • Answer the preschool phone and aftercare line.
  • Maintain aftercare attendance sheets.
  • Log substitute hours on Paylocity.
  • Assist with emails to parents and teachers as needed.
  • Liaison for preschool parents teachers and students.
  • Maintain and stay up to date with events occurring in the Lower School.
  • Assist with preschool lunch orders.
  • Check in with Lower School administrative assistant for needs or updates.


Coordinator for After School and Camp Programs

  • Maintain compliance with Bright from the Start.
  • Filing of all after school program forms.
  • Post and communicate notices for upcoming events.
  • Order supplies when needed.
  • Assist with contacting families.
  • Input billing for Viking Clubhouse and Viking Crew.
  • Check in with COO for any after school or camp needs or tasks.
  • Send emails for programs and coordinate with parents and teachers.
Requirements
  • Growing Christian with a credible profession of faith and involvement in an evangelical church
  • Capacity to initiate and nurture relationships with parents and students
  • Willing to work with others in a team environment
  • Positive attitude and welcoming spirit
  • Demonstrated skills defined within the content of the position description including excellent interpersonal and written/ verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to a lifestyle above reproach in line with FPDs Statement of Christian Principles and Ministerial Role of Faculty
  • Experience working with young children preferred


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The majority of work will be performed in a classroom or school campus. The person in this role is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods of time and may be required to lift up to 20lbs.
