Job Description:
The role is tasked with providing knowledge and expertise in the administration and management of safety processes regulatory agency compliance and company policies to drive a culture of zero incidents. You will work in conjunction with business unit and plant management to drive model and further develop the safety culture.
As a Health and Safety Leader You Will:
Engage with both plant and corporate leadership in building strategic plans and energize plant associates in safety and environmental improvement. Develops and implements innovative strategies with the goal of creating a culture of safety.
Develop and standardize policies procedures and programs aimed at improving safety performance and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Analyzes any actions data regarding performance against organizational metrics incident trends serious incidents regulatory and legal issues.
Organizes and manages the incident investigation process within the facility using root cause analysis techniques.
Subject matter expert providing analytical and technical guidance related to OSHA DOT EPA and local and state regulatory requirements.
Oversees Workers Compensation injury review investigation and corrective actions. Collaborates with risk management HR and carriers to effectively manage claims.
Works closely with Plant Management HR and BU EHS Leader to problem-solve and implement solutions.
Develops and implements sampling and monitoring plans for industrial hygiene requirements.
Collaborates cross functionally to ensure effective equipment guarding design installation and compliance.
Work with on-site Safety Teams to achieve excellence in safety performance.
Maintain positive working relationships with facility personnel by developing and presenting weekly plant meeting safety talks and leading safety committees
Maintain and prepare facility safety performance information for monthly best practice sharing and safety scorecard reporting with our other HVACR facilities
Who you are:
You establish and maintain effective relationships partnering with others to get things done. You will facilitate breakthroughs by integrating diverse views finding common ground and/or acceptable alternatives to create a Zero Incident Culture. You provide timely and helpful information to individuals across the organization following through on commitments and ensuring others do the same.
Required Education Experience and Skills:
Bachelors degree in Safety Environmental Health or Safety Engineering. A comparable combination of education and experience may be considered as alternate qualifications for education.
Minimally 2-4 years of experience in the EH&S field.
Prior work experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is needed.
OSHA Certified (30 Hours).
Experience managing workplace injuries and workers compensation claims including incident evaluation root cause analysis prevention strategies as well as identifying and preventing potential SIF incidents.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Self-motivated for excellence and has a high standard of self performance.
Statistical knowledge and aptitude. Strong project organizational and time management.
Use of the Microsoft Office suite Excel Word Power Point
Strong leadership skills and is comfortable with public speaking.
Strong collaborator cross functionally and has the ability to work well with both technical and non-technical individuals.
Preferred education experience and skills:
CSP (Certified Safety Professional) CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) or other comparable certification desirable or ability to obtain such certifications
Environmental experience is a plus
Plant or culture transformation experience highly preferred
Experience with Velocity EHS Software
Onsite Work Arrangement:
This role is based fully onsite and not eligible for hybrid or remote work opportunities. This is a 1st shift role.
