Job Description
This Special. Education Teacher position is within the APS Tier 3 Student Support Program (T3/SSP) at High Plain Elementary School. T3/SSP is an inclusion-based program for students with Special .Education for a primary Emotional Impairment who struggle with challenges resulting from emotional needs. The T3/SSP teacher is partnered with a psychologist and highly supported by the school BCBA and social work staff. Program oversight is provided by the districts Clinical Director in partnership with building administrationResponsibilitiesCase management for T3/SSP collection regarding academic performance and behavioral health needs (i.e. academic progress progress with skills acquisition time participating in inclusion activities).Academic support for T3/SSP students in small group support -in support for T3/SSP students in their general education students teachers implementing accommodations and making curriculum IEP goals/contributing to IEP coordination with students general ed teachers Working with paraprofessional support for students in the Degree in Special EducationMA DESE Certification Required- Moderate Special Education Teacher Supplemental InformationDesirable candidates:Experience working at the elementary level with students who have emotional an understanding of collaborative problem-solving strategies/ comfortable supporting students in the inclusion classroom as well as running and coordinating small group academic support able to maintain an even and professional disposition when students are willing to be on the buildings SafetyCare response team (de-escalation team).
