Job Description

The American Hospital Association (AHA) is a national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals health care networks and their patients and communities. The AHA has two main offices located in Washington D.C. and Chicago. We are currently seeking a part time Senior Specialist Supply Chain for our Chicago office.

Starting base salary $78000- $97000- $116000 (commensurate with related experience). The AHA is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. A candidates salary is determined by various factors including but not limited to relevant work experience skills certifications and location.

The Senior Specialist Supply Chain is responsible foridentifying and developing supply chain content for Association for Health Care Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM) programs products and services. As key content specialist for health care supply chain and materials management research and develop educational programs communications campaigns and other products and services for members and other constituents. Assist Executive Director with advocacy efforts through research and development.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge the health care resource and materials management field. Utilize knowledge to identify and recommend professional development resources that inform and educate AHRMM membership and other constituents. Work collaboratively with AHRMM education team to develop new content as the basis for AHRMM programs products and services or supplemental content to enhance the value of established offerings as needed.
  • Serve as key content specialist for AHRMM staff and select volunteer task forces particularly the development of educational programs marketing and communications resources publications and other products and services. Provide input and guidance (through both personal knowledge and research) on new and existing content and messaging to ensure that AHRMMs programs products and services are timely relevant and of high quality particularly those that are new being significantly redesigned or are large in scope.
  • Assist Executive Director with AHRMM advocacy activities including development of position/advisory statements and practice recommendations for key supply chain issues to both external and membership audiences. Serve as a staff liaison to the American Hospital Association Policy Group Issues & Legislative Committee and other related Committees and Task Forces and counterparts in other health care professional organizations.
  • As a key content specialist assist Executive Director with framing issues for Board discussion and with developing and implementing of certain strategic initiatives including the Cost Quality and Outcomes (CQO) program the Clinically Integrated Supply Chain and the Learning UDI Community.
  • Support the Executive Director in building and institutionalizing the organizations professional network and represent AHRMM to external organizations.
  • Manage AHRMMs research agenda and related projects working with member task forces/committees outsourced researchers and academic institutions. Represent AHRMM on health care supply chain research initiatives with external organizations and academic institutions.
