Molin Upper Elementary School is a grade 4-5 school. We are looking for a dynamic positive person who enjoys working with elementary school students who is comfortable in a fast-paced school environment and who is interested in collaborating with a team of teachers. The Special Education teacher will provide instruction to elementary grade students and must be comfortable differentiating and modifying curriculum co-teaching in general education classrooms and providing academic support to students with disabilities. In addition the teacher will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary teaching team to support students in an inclusion model. We are looking for an energetic and flexible educator who is interested in contributing to our school culture through activities outside the classroom (clubs professional programs and extracurricular activities) and working by the Clipper Values (respect kindness innovation perseverance responsibility reflection). SEI Endorsement REQUIRED. Experience teaching special education and managing the IEP process (including testing reporting and meeting facilitation) required. Experience using research-based reading & language intervention approaches such as Wilson Language/Reading (certification preferred) a plus. Standards-based curriculum and instruction experience preferred. Knowledge Required: Currency in the curriculum including knowledge of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. Effective planning and assessment of curriculum and instruction for students with language-based learning disabilities. Effective classroom management and experience with co-teaching model. Effective instruction in a standards-based classroom. Promotion of high standards and expectations for student proficiency. Promotion of equity and appreciation of diversity. Effective integration of technology across the curriculum. Abilities Required: Ability to deliver effective to modify and differentiate instruction to meet student needs. Ability to administer required student testing and assessments to write related reports and to facilitate team meetings. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students parents colleagues and administrators.
