- Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
Art Teacher Requirements
- Provides a challenging student-focused environment based on the Art standards which incorporates multi-modal learning within a collaborative school climate that welcomes and supports teachers students and parents
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize the available time for art instruction.
- Teaches knowledge and skills in visual and performing arts; including drawing painting lettering design art history performances and three-dimensional art and other appropriate learning activities.
- Provides instruction by which students develop aesthetic concepts and appreciation and the ability to make qualitative judgments about art art appreciation and what constitutes art.
- Conducts ongoing assessment of student skills and learning in artistic techniques and expression and modifies instructional methods to fit individual students needs including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.
- Demonstrates techniques in activities such as drawing painting and modeling using standard and teacher-prepared instructional aids.
Afterschool duties
- Assist and supervise children during all activities.
- Actively engage with children at all times with the goal of fostering the positive development of each child and the group
- Assist children with meal/snack time and clean-up.
- Clean-up site when children depart. Inspect and return supplies to appropriate place. Follow proper cleaning requirements and procedures.
- Ensure that site appearance cleanliness and safe environment are appropriately maintained
- Build a positive relationship with each after-school participant and foster positive connections between participants.
- Interact professionally and appropriately with children parents and community members and partners.
Qualifications :
You are qualified if you have:
-Knowledge of current art instructional teaching methods and educational pedagogy as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles. Knowledge of art curriculum and concepts.
-Bachelors Degree or higher in Fine Arts/visual Arts with teaching qualification or equivalent
- A valid US teachers certificate with demonstrated skills OR minimum of 2 years of teaching Art experience
- An energetic personality with ability to engage young children in a creative manner
- The ability to integrate all areas of the curriculum while teaching Art and Integrated Art standards
- Experience modifying the curriculum to accommodate learners
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with children and adults
