Job Description

The Program Coordinator I under general supervision coordinates the planning development and implementation for the Office of Student Engagement.

This position may pay more than the salary listed above depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as liaison between student organizations and administration staff university faculty vendors and members to facilitate the success and safety of student programs and events. Provide general leadership and programming guidance for all student organizations including the annual registration maintenance of records contracts and managing the student organizations through monthly trainings. Develop and coordinate co-curricular support programs trainings and services to enhance student engagement learning and success through our student organizations.

  • Manage and maintain the online student organization database and reservation system. Provide additional support for operations and updates using the PVPaw Link (formerly Collegiate Link). Provide professional support and advice to all student organizations including recruitment registration transition processes constitution review and financial policies. Assist student organizations in the event planning process including speaker requests space reservations marketing collaboration funding and other special needs.

  • Ensure compliance with state regulations university policies and procedures. Implement the Standards of Excellence award program for student organizations for campus recognition.

  • Support the Office of Student Engagement programmatic efforts via the following: serve as Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act assist with the collaboration of several campus-wide and traditional events for example: Homecoming Week of Welcome Welcome Back Week Leadership Training and Spring Fest.

  • Performs other duties as assigned. Supports the division for Student Affairs in divisional efforts.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree

  • Two years of related experience.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing spreadsheet and database applications. Verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Other Requirements:

  • Required to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree.

  • Two or more years of related work experience in a university or community college environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Comfortable with technology and social media.

  • Experience with managing budgets planning student activities and advising student groups.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with students parents administrators faculty and staff members and outside constituencies.
